rag & bone sweatpant jeans
From gut-sucking skinnies to retro cool bell-bottoms and acid-washed denims à la the 80s, the evolution of jeans never fails to keep us guessing. And this time, it’s gone one step further with jeans that aren’t even made of denim. Say what? Introducing the sweatpant jeans from rag & bone.
The recently released Miramar Jean sure is a tricky little fella. Upon first glance, it’s just your average slouchy boyfriend jeans. But take a closer look and you’ll realize that everything from the zipper, belt loops, pockets, and rips is fake. It’s actually a digital print of real jeans on a terry cotton fabric. How’s that for creative genius?
Miramar Jean (L), Pajama Jean (L)
Ingenuity aside, we’re ooh ahh-ing over the Miramar Jean for another reason: comfort. After all, jeans made of sweatpants material is the best compromise for days when we just want to stay in our pyjamas (but our jobs dictate that we can’t). Or, you could just look to rag & bone’s other offering: the aptly named Pajama Jean, made from 100% cotton.
But be warned: at $200 a pop, these babies don’t come cheap. It may actually be more frugal to practise our trompe l’oeil skills on actual sweatpants and pyjamas.
