Looking for the ultimate 2018 World Cup celebration? Make your way to Clarke Quay to check out Football Fever and other highlights
Ole, ole, ole! If you’re filled with excitement and know the tune we’re referring to, then you’ve definitely got a case of football fever. And rightly so, with the 2018 World Cup kicking off on 14 June! If you’re wondering where we’re getting the party started, it’s going to be everyone’s favourite nightlife enclave, Clarke Quay, and its hip and happening Football Fever Fiesta.
Football Fever
Slated for 26 to 28 June, the free-to-enter (woohoo!) shindig starts at 6pm till late. The programme’s looking pretty darn good; grab a cold Carlsberg beer or a snack from Harry’s at Clarke Quay’s Fountain Square and stick around for musical performances by some of Singapore’s top artists, including Kate & Iwee and six-man rock band Energy. After that, there’ll be live screenings of matches from 10pm to 1am. If you need the full schedule, it’s Denmark versus France on 26 June, South Korea versus Germany on 27 June, and finally Japan versus Poland on 28 June (you’re welcome).
Catch the live action
With so many of Clarke Quay’s bars and restaurants screening live matches (there are more than 16 venues to choose from!), you’ll be spoiled for choice. But hey, if you want to make a quick decision, we say the best thing to do is to go by their World Cup deals. That way, not only will you be pleased with the telly that’s there for your viewing pleasure, but also with the grub and drinks on offer.
Need ideas? There’s McGettigan’s and its many promos, including $14 nett pints for those wearing their national team jerseys; Paulaner Clarke Quay for bundle deals starting from $88++ on bottles and beer towers; The Pump Room’s $10 nett bar bites, and plenty more.
All fun and games
On top of everything else that’s happening at Clarke Quay, there’s also the Football Fiesta, happening from 12pm to 5pm on 1 July, Sunday. If you’re looking for games, bouncy castles, inflatable foosball and more cool activities for the whole family, this is not to be missed.
Looks like with all these highlights, you won’t need to head anywhere else to cure that football fever of yours this World Cup season. See you down at Clarke Quay!
