As one of the best restaurants along Keong Saik Road, Neon Pigeon reveals new dishes that take it to greater heights
One-upping the appeal of Japanese izakayas in Singapore along Keong Saik Road is this communal restaurant that’s been flying high for years. Run by the same folks behind Fat Prince and The Ottoman Room, Neon Pigeon continues to soar with its quirky and fusion-esque take on Japanese-inspired tapas. So when we caught wind of Neon Pigeon’s new dishes – 13 of them, to be exact – we couldn’t resist swooping down on this food news.
Piquing our curiosity is its new duck liver okonomiyaki, which combines our love for both foie gras and the Japanese pancake. Also on our radar is the sous vide octopus leg, served with black plum vinegar, a confit garlic puree and sweet soy sauce; and the charcoal-grilled barracuda that comes completely deboned. Vegetarians will dig the Vegetables That Stand alone, a dish consisting of celery, pickled vegetables, and wok-tossed green beans. And if you fancy indulging in intense flavours, the miso grilled clams, salmon tartare, and the bacon, egg and cheese rice should be up your alley.
Looks like another trip to Neon Pigeon is in order, don’t you think?
