This 2017 New Year’s Eve party in Singapore lets you count down with local indie and dance music at Blu Jaz Cafe
Never mind grandiose galas and extravagant balls to ring in the New Year; this alternative revelry is your cup of tea if you’re looking for a grittier, gnarlier bash to count down with your peeps. And not only is this your escape from the ritz and glitz of pretentious parties, but it’s also your gateway – if you’re not already initiated – to the some of the best in Singapore’s underground music scene.
Hosted by ATTAGIRL!, the local edgy collective of female DJs and VJs, this event will take over all three floors of Blu Jaz Café with a mish-mash of entertainment. Homegrown bands like Stopgap and Spacedays occupy the ground floor with indie-rock, punk and electronica tunes. While levels two and three drop everything from bass and juke, to grime and jungle courtesy of selectors like A/K/A Sounds, Jaydah, DuriO, Prema, Darren Dubwise and more. The uppermost floor also whips up a bevy of hip-hop and synth-pop live acts such as Jasmine Sokko and Mediocre Haircut Crew.
