Seasoned yogis, casual practitioners, and curious beginners came together this weekend to work it out at the Namaste Festival, held at the Sultan Hotel. In addition to local instructors, the festival also invited some international experts such as Ellone Stockton and Eric Shaw. Variety was the name of the game with a plethora of different styles from the traditional forms to more modern interpretations including budokon, a martial-arts inspired practice; roga, running + yoga; and yoga plus traditional Chinese medicine.
The festival also featured a strong natural-wellness component and there were experts expounding on the benefits of Japanese acupuncture, hypnotherapy, raindrop therapy, spirit coaching, face readings, and corporate soul consultations. There were also delicious food offerings, a bazaar, and musical performances to round out the day.
