In this month's edition of Hot New Tables: Gioi, Pablo Cheese Tart, Yellowfin, Benedict and Hatchi
So many new restaurants in Jakarta and so little time! Luckily, we’re here to keep you on top of where’s worth the trip to eat. From an Asian farm-to-table bistro to one of Japan’s dessert phenomenons, we’ve got the skinny on the Hot New Tables this month.
The next eatery to be riding the farm-to-table wave is Gioi, a casual Senopati bistro serving fresh Asian inspired cuisine to the hungry masses. Graze away on prettily plated dishes like satay lilit heaping with sambal matah, tangy Sriracha chicken wings, and smooth steak tartare completely Insta-ready with an edible flower on top.
Gioi, Jl. Senopati No. 88, South Jakarta. p. +62 21 721 1468.
Pablo Cheese Tart
Japanese cheese tart enthusiasts know the drill: Pablo’s famous cheese tarts are so good they have customers currently lining up for hours to get their hands on this warm, gooey dessert. This international phenomenon is best devoured when pulled out fresh from the oven. Don’t believe us? Join the queue, and prepare those tastebuds for a truly life-changing experience.

This stylish Japanese eatery just went through a swish new makeover, and we’re coloured impressed. Get your tastebuds humming with delicious fusion dishes, especially the Hokkaido banana for dessert. If it’s lunch in the CBD you’re after, Yellowfin is the king of cheap eats – most lunch teishoku sets run for under IDR 100,000.
Yellowfin, Jl. Senopati Raya No. 42, South Jakarta. p. +62 21 722 0394.
Benedict Pacific Place
Benedict’s first outpost stole our hearts with hearty breakfast dishes and beautifully brewed coffee, so we were more than thrilled when the all day breakfast joint decided to open up a lofty second location in SCBD. Bring out the whole crew for a Sunday brunch and fill up your tums with their signature eggs benny done six ways. Oh my.
Benedict, Pacific Place Mall, Level 4. p. +6221 5797 3742.
Hatchi, H Group’s latest Asian inspired joint, is a buzzing new spot in the Pondok Indah neighbourhood. All our favourites are ticked off with build your own noodle bowls, poke bowls, soft baos…they even have Ketan Nutella Smores for dessert! *Heavy breathing* Thirsty? Sip on signature cocktails inspired by Asian spices and exotic fruits like their Cengkeh Old Fashioned. Bartender, make it two, thanks.
