On the hunt for a cool collaborative coworking experience? GoWork is the stuff of office inspo dreams for creative professionals and entrepreneurs who want convenience, world-class facilities, and style without breaking the bank.
Listen up all you digital nomads, creativepreneurs, and freelancers based in the Big Durian! We’re giving you the scoop on a swish new coworking space in Central Jakarta that is officially opening its doors on Thursday, 6 April 2017 (psstt…they’re throwing a launch party and you’re all invited!) Bonus: our readers get one month’s free membership in April!
This collaborative hub and event space is called GoWork, and is conveniently situated in a prime Grade-A office building in the heart of Thamrin. Sisters Renee and Peony Tang co-founded this gorgeous coworking space with their husbands Donny Tandianus and Richard Lim, alongside Xavier Chang, happily mixing business with pleasure as they are all deeply passionate about creating shared workspaces and building communities in Jakarta.
Thanks to award-winning interior designer Revano Satria, the design of the coworking space is stunning – think light wood details, marbled table tops, modern furnishings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a killer view of Central Jakarta that makes the 9-to-5 grind worth it. The high ceiling also mean that there’s a tricked out lounge area filled with loads of natural light. The lounge is also equipped with a projection screen for presentations (or movie nights) and an audio system for seminars (or karaoke parties). In a nutshell, the totally adaptable public space can be used for hackathons, workshops, fireside chats, community events, and even pop-up markets and is available to the public for rental!
Busy work bees who need to collaborate in big groups will love GoWork’s open plan desk space where hot deskers can park themselves daily. If you need a quiet place to work solo, opt for a membership to one of their spacious private offices fully decked out with boss-like desks, lockable storage space, and ergonomic chairs (insider’s tip: nab the corner ones for unbeatable city views).
You can also book any one of their three conference rooms on an hourly basis or reserve a dedicated work station for the month. Be it short or long-term, flexibility is the name of the game at GoWork. There’s even a quiet phone booth that you can hop into to take calls, a nifty kitchenette stocked with snacks that you pay for using an honor system, free coffee, tea, and water (plus a kick-ass Jura coffee machine that supplies a stream of caffeine high to all GoWorkers), and of course, super-fast Wi-Fi (a luxury in a city where the Wi-Fi. Never. Works).
You would think that you’d need to roll out the dough to get an office space in this part of town, but no. Membership fees are incredibly competitive starting at IDR 140,000/day for a hot desk and IDR 5,500,000/month for private offices. Where else are you going to find office rent like that in Central Jakarta? Honeycombers Jakarta has also set up our HQ here, so if you’re around, feel free to knock on our door and say hi!
