Did you know that Hong Kong boasts the largest number of sake consumers per capita? And if you’ve one of them (or one of us, rather), chances are you need to be at this year’s World Sake Day Global Kanpai event to celebrate all things Nihonshu!
This year, the 44-year-old tradition will be elevated with the Global Kanpai event hosted by Sake Central, together with Hong Kong’s OSAs, FJSIHK, and Kin Food Halls. What’s more, this event can be attended by everyone around the world.
Join us at World Sake Day Global Kanpai
If you’re in Hong Kong, gather your friends and come over to Kin Food Halls, where a large projection screen will broadcast 300 live feeds featuring industry professionals and passionate sake consumers logging in from all around the world. Provided with sake (of course) and your own limited-edition ochoko, you can then raise your glass together with a global audience of fellow sake lovers! In addition, you’ll be able to enjoy a sake tasting, complemented by a selection of Kin’s food offerings. Expect one-night-only dishes by Awa Awa’s head chef Joe Chan, as well as photo and video booths for you to record your best moments.
If you’re in another country, don’t worry – you can still join in on the fun by registering here for live feed access. You can even receive goodies for this inaugural event, so nobody gets left out!
Psst – make sure to be online especially between 6.55 and 7.05pm HKT to participate in the coordinated global kanpai!
