For the month of January as per the French tradition, La Vache! celebrates Epiphany (the day the Three Kings visited the baby Jesus) with a festive Galette des Rois ($118 per slice) served at both La Vache! locations. The traditional French dessert is comprised of sweet puff pastry encasing a frangipani filling that also hides a fève (a little lucky charm). Whoever finds the fève is crowned King for the Day, and also wins lunch for two at La Vache! TST. If dining in a group, the tradition is that the youngest of the party hides under the table (to ensure no peeking) as the dessert is served and they are allowed to choose who receives which slice. And for the first time whole Galette des Rois ($388) will be available to order on Butter, Black Sheep Restaurants’ online cake shop.
