Hong Kong citizens and tourists can also enjoy the special light playground there in front of the charming Victoria Harbour scenery.
Run Beyond Light Art Shines Brilliance at the Victoria Harbourfront
Well-known Italian artist Angelo Bonello made his name with the iconic Kitonb light installation projects. His works have been shown in more than 40 countries in a world tour. Being amongst his best-known works, the Run Beyond series has appeared in the key landmarks of Amsterdam, Toronto, Washington D.C., Singapore, Liverpool, the City of Niagara Falls and London since 2015. Run Beyond is ready and on the mark for its first landing in Hong Kong and will be shown at the approximately 13,000 sq metre WCHES.
At the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, the light installation 65 metres in length will create a recurring, vivacious imagery of large light silhouettes running and leaping in dreamlike surrealism. The brand new leisure and entertainment landmark of Hong Kong extends an artistic welcome to Hong Kong’s residents and tourists. Reverberating with vitality, the artwork’s appeal transcends all ages. Visitors may appreciate the artwork up close and take as many instagrammable photographs as they wish.
Run Beyond describes the experience of running in a surreal environment, and features a series of jumping movements that stretches the wildest of imagination. This is meant to convey a sense of empowerment, liberating one to overcome fear and any other forms of rational constraints. By inspiring in the viewers the power of imagination, the artwork encourages one to open up and embrace different cultures, friendships and unknown horizons in life. Running is the most impulsive and primal instinct of the human body, it could indicate a flight in response to danger, and it could also indicate a resolute pursuit of one’s dreams. This light installation artwork presents a recurring cycle. One starts running, stops, and starts running again, just like how we go through the routines of daily life.
Opening Ceremony Showcases Vitality of the Harbourfront with Light Installation Art, Light Playground, Music and Gourmet

Italian artist Angelo Bonello will appear on the opening night to share his creative philosophy. Participants will also be the first to appreciate Run Beyond and enjoy the light recreation facilities. Furthermore, there will be DJ party, food and beverages stalls, and comfortable seating and resting areas, ensuring a top-notch cultural experience for visitors.
