Dive into Polish culture at this festival in May featuring an exciting array of culinary and cultural events
“Poland tastes good” is the motto of this celebration of all things Polish, but don’t take their word for it. Experience it yourself from 18 May to 13 June where bars and restaurants around Singapore will be featuring a selection of authentic Polish food and drinks. But there’s more to discover – here are four reasons why you’ll want to check out this exciting food festival.
Six talented chefs
We can’t think of a better way to get introduced to Poland’s cuisine than this festival, especially considering that you’ll get to sample the finest creations of six talented Polish chefs – Marcin Suchenek, Michal Trukawka, Maciej Duszka, Sebastain Krauzowicz, Bartosz Peter, and Daniek Chrzaszczewski. The six will be serving up lunch, dinner and canapés at restaurants around the island like Oscar’s Restaurant, Xperience Restaurant, Atlantic, and Botanico at The Garage.
Happy hours and parties
Party like the Polish do with the festival’s lineup of happy hours and special parties featuring Polish vodka, cocktails and ciders at bars like 1 Altitude, SO Sofitel HI-SO, and The Garden by Sofitel Sentosa Resort & Spa. These events will run alongside dining events and movie screenings (see below) for a truly comprehensive Polish experience.
Polish movie screenings
If you’re more of a movie junkie than a foodie, you’ll want to catch the festival’s live screening of two Polish favourites – the classic romcom Planet Single, and the children’s fantasy tale, Behind Blue Doors.
A musical picnic concert
Like we always say, it’s not a proper festival without good music, and this celebration of Polish culture will certainly deliver with its “Poland sounds good” outdoor picnic concert at Singapore Botanic Gardens. The concert will feature a quartet of phenomenal Polish musicians – Arkadiusz Bielak (piano), Hanna Krasnodebska (violin), Jacek Mirucki (bass), Waclaw Turek (accordion). While you’re free to bring your own food, concert-goers can also pre-order a Polish picnic basket from Bee’s Knees at Botanic Gardens. The concert’s finale will see a lucky winner receive a spectacular trip to Europe sponsored by Insight Vacations and Lufthansa.
