Looking for a shortcut to younger-looking skin or a more sculpted body? We’ve put together everything you need to know about fat grafting from body sculpting professionals Amaris B. Clinic.
We’re all for body confidence, but if we’re being honest, there’s really nothing wrong with enhancing some parts of our face and body that we already love. Whether it’s loading up on anti-aging products or doing an extra few squats for a curvier bum, we’re always on the quest for a better version of ourselves. However, if you’re not seeing any results from your efforts, you might want to consider fat grafting procedures as a “quick fix”.
Here’s what fat grafting involves: first, fat will be removed from unwanted areas (think: tummy, thighs or hips). Then, it will be injected into the parts of you that you want to plump up, such as your butt, breasts, under-eye area, chin or cheeks. A win-win situation, we must say! The process can sound a little intimidating, which is why we’ve asked Dr. Ivan Puah of Amaris B. Clinic for a cheat sheet on everything you need to know about fat grafting.
Fat grafting is not just for your bum and breasts
Fat grafting is more commonly known for being used to lift your derriere or chest, but fat grafting can also be used to reduce dark eye circles, fill up the chin and cheeks for a more youthful look and even to help improve uneven skin texture caused by scars, says Dr Ivan Puah.
Fat grafting looks more natural
No implants are used in fat grafting procedures, as you’ll be injecting your own fat into areas you want to enhance. Unlike silicone, it’s less invasive and requires less downtime – so you’ll be showing off your newfound confidence in no time!
It may take two months to see the final results of fat grafting
While the downtime is minimal, there may be some post-treatment swelling, especially for facial fat grafting treatments. According to Dr Puah, it usually takes a few weeks to two months to fully appreciate the final outcome, which depends on the areas involved.
You’ll go through a personalised consultation process
Before you undergo any fat grafting treatment, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Puah, where you can discuss your concerns. He’ll then advise you on the best treatments for your specific needs, and ensure that your expectations are realistic and can be met by the proposed treatment.
