Move aside James Bond – the world’s most classic cocktail is getting a 2017 twist with exciting flavours. Top-notch mixologists from Publik Markette, Olivier, Monty’s, Rock Paper Scissors, De Luca and Union are challenged to come up with bespoke martinis for the second annual Martini Week
In search of the best specialty martini in Jakarta? Well, you’re in luck because Belvedere Vodka is bringing back their annual fête of the world’s most celebrated cocktail. Belvedere Martini Week takes over Publik Markette, Olivier, Monty’s, Rock Paper Scissors, De Luca and Union as these hot spots participate in the weeklong celebration that takes place from 24 to 30 July. Because what better way to banish those post-summer holiday blues than to drown your sorrows in a stiff drink or two?
Six of the city’s top restaurants and bars are mixing up all sorts of irresistible colourful concoctions where even a unicorn martini is up for grabs. Jakarta’s top mixologists have been working their magic behind the bar to come up with their own special take of the classic drink to feature a brand new, hand-crafted martini cocktail. At Union, order up their Butterfly Pea Martini, a mix of yuzu juice and elderflower that is perfected with Butterfly Pea-infused Belvedere Vodka. If you like a kick with your drink, head to Monty’s where they’ll be mixing up a Japanese-inspired Wasabi-tini. Olivier will be taking cocktail aficionados on a trip closer to home with their delightful Bunaken Belvetini, while Publik Markette’s take is a rainbow-coloured dream. Their Unicorn Martini is made up of hazelnut, strawberry, and topped with a sinful lemon-whipped cream. De Luca’s fruity concoction is called the Green Card martini, while Rock Paper Scissors has dubbed theirs the Great Gatsby. Which one is the best? Well, you’ll just have to sample them all for yourself. We know we will. See you Honeys at the bar!
