The Aravina Restaurant is located within the Bali Equestrian Centre in trendy Canggu and has to be one of the best family friendly restaurants in Bali. Surely it is every child’s dream to eat their lunch with lions? [Even we are pretty excited about that prospect]. Well at Wana Restaurant, Lounge & Bar, at Bali Zoo, you can do just that. Bring the family and come into the ‘wana’ [jungle in Balinese]. It is set in a two-story tree house next to the lion’s area, and through the thick glass windows you will have the experience of being up close and personal with the animals. There is even a special ‘Cubs Tea’ menu for the little ones to enjoy, with sandwiches, spring rolls, scones and tea.

Warung Sopa, Ubud
This is a vegetarian café ideal for families with kids with bundles of energy who love playing outdoors! There are things to do for kids of all ages, including a playpen with lots of colourful toys for the younger kids, and an outdoor large play area, complete with tyre swings, for the older children. If the restaurant is called Good [bagus means good in Balinese] Pizza, then you know you are on to a winner with the little ones. This was one of, if not the, first pizzeria in Ubud and has been the firm favourite Italian haunt in the area since then. Bring the family and enjoy an affordable feast of classic Italian dishes, including pastas, pizzas, and their signature carbonara, and don’t forget to try their gelato – the only problem is deciding on which flavour! Plus, kids are given crayons and paper to keep them busy, and there is also darts and futsal for the teenagers.

The Cashew Tree, Bingin
The Cashew Tree offers fresh and healthy upmarket warung style food, in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. There is a huge grass lawn for the little ones to run around in, plus a special kids area located on the decking which is full of treasures to keep the little tykes busy for hours, including toys, books, dolls, games, pencils, paper, colouring in books, whiteboard and markers.
