Love doing the Irish jig (badly) and can’t get enough of live covers of “Whiskey In The Jar” and “Galway Girl”? And also, do you absolutely adore Guinness? If your answer to all of that is an “Aye”, then you’re in luck! Saint Patrick’s Day is coming up on the other end of the rainbow, so we’ve put together a list of the finest Irish pubs in Singapore for you to down that cold pint and another one. Sláinte!
McGettigan’s Clarke Quay
It’s no surprise that Singapore’s prime nightlife destination is home to this illustrious Irish import. McGettigan’s plays live broadcasts of rugby and football, so if you’re here to catch a big match, expect a riot of a night. Prefer to chill out with some live music? Gan Ainm, one of Singapore’s most established Celtic bands, plays quite regularly at McGettigan’s. If a couple of pints have you feeling peckish, you’re in for a treat with hearty menu options like the Irish Burger, as well as pub grub classics like buffalo hot wings. And if that’s not reason enough to plop yourself at its bar, McGettigan’s is offering all brews for $10 nett from the 17th to the 20th of March.
McGettigan’s Clarke Quay, #01-01 Merchant’s Court, 3A River Valley Rd, Singapore 179020. p. 6837 0577. Open weekdays 12pm-3am, weekends 10am-3am.
Molly Malone’s Irish Pub and Brasserie
Knock back a couple of cold pints of the black stuff while taking in live Irish music at Singapore’s oldest Irish pub. This veritable institution, in all its warm, wood-panelled glory, has served as an authentic den of all that is Irish for over two decades. In addition to Guinness and Kilkenny, Molly’s offers quintessential Irish drams like Jameson, Tullamore Dew and Bushmills. If you’re craving a wholesome Irish feed, tuck into a bowl of Guinness beef stew or a plate of bangers and mash. And did you know? Trivia junkies should also pop by on a Monday night to take part in the weekly trivia night, for a chance to bag themselves a bucket of beers.
Molly Malone’s Irish Pub and Brasserie, 56 Circular Road, Singapore 049411. p. 6536 2029. Open Mon-Thu 11am-1am, Fri-Sat 11am-2am. Closed on Sun.
Molly Roffey’s Irish Pub
Hang with the boys and catch the game over copious pints of Guinness, kick back with the girls on ladies night, or just dive into a satisfying plate of bangers and mash or Guinness oxtail pie at this homely Irish pub. If you really can’t get enough of your Guinness, sink your forks into Molly Roffey’s signature chocolate Guinness cake which pairs really well with – you guessed it – another pint of Guinness.
Molly Roffey’s Irish Pub, 51 Bras Basah Road, #01-02A Manulife Centre, Singapore 189554. p. 6238 0989. Open daily 12pm-2am.
A slider with the ID of 489 doesn't exist.Muddy Murphy’s
Quite literally made in Ireland, Muddy Murphy’s was built to scale in Dublin 19 years ago, dismantled, and shipped to Singapore where it was reassembled at the basement of Orchard Hotel Shopping Arcade. This dingy but warm underground dig has seen its fair share of raucous Saint Paddy’s Day shindigs and hectic live gigs. The pub has since moved out of its iconic premises and found a home at TripleOne Somerset, but don’t worry about the new venue; it’s just as rustic, lived-in and lively in as the original. It’s not all about drinking here though, the traditional Sunday Roast is to die for!
Muddy Murphy’s, 111 Somerset Road, Singapore 238164. p. 6735 0400.
Malone’s Irish Restaurant & Bar
Conveniently located at 313 Orchard, Malone’s is a haven for city slickers thirsty for an after-work pint. The drinks are reasonably priced and the menu is extensive, so you won’t be left wanting when the post-pint munchies come calling. If you like the whole Irish pub experience but prefer to chill somewhere a little brighter, park yourself at one of their alfresco (but sheltered) tables.

The Drunken Poet
Opening in the prime real estate of Orchard (that’s as good an end of the rainbow as any!), this new Irish pub promises that you “won’t have to recite a limerick to be served”. But who knows? Get blissfully intoxicated on this tavern’s draught beer cocktails – the Black Velvet (half-Guinness, half-Strongbow) and Irish Car Bomb (Guinness with Baileys) – and you might just splutter out a spoken word symphony of ye own. We hear they also screen live sports games here; be prepared for some rowdy football nights!
