Orange? Nah. Word on the street is that Green is the New Black, and we think the founders of Singapore’s very first Conscious Festival might just be onto something. If you’re bothered about what you put in your body, how you feed your mind, and how you spend your money, this curated platform of mindful local brands and influencers needs to be on your radar.
Not sure if it’s for you? We say put 28 May in your diary and head on down to the Green Is The New Black pop-up event, held at the Working Capitol Building, to find out. Consider it an abridged version of the main festival itself (set to take place later this year), where you’ll hear from forward-thinking professionals, trendsetters and influencers on conscious living, learning and connection (and besides, if you ever cross paths with Gwyneth Paltrow, here’s your conversation starter!).
What to expect
The central theme of the pop-up is sustainable fashion. A curated platform for influential individuals who champion this philosophy – including Hanna Hillila (creative director of Matter), Jessica Cheam (founder of eco-business), Raye Padid (co-founder of Connected Threads Asia), and Leslie Chiverton (founder of Transparent Supply Chains) – will discuss, debate, and deliberate why sustainable fashion is so important, and why we should all care in the first place! Will green be the new black? Pop along to find out!
Hold up, there’s more!
Loads more! The early bird catches the worm, and that’s certainly true here; the first 80 guests will bag themselves free grub and a coffee courtesy of one of the delish foodie stalls. Refuelling done, it’s time to browse the marketplace that will be packed with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands (with a mindful edge, naturally). Fancy a break? Check out the music stage and soak up the chilled out vibes of live performances. Or alternatively, get involved in one of the live workshops that include a morning yoga session, building your own living garden, becoming an urban farmer, and mindful ways to build confidence, to name but a few!
