When it comes to Japanese food, none quite strike the sweet spots of our tums as much as a hearty chirashi-don – packed with melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, tangy pickles and vinegared sushi rice. And as it seems, there’s gonna be a new chirashi-don joint in town; specifically, at Circular Road which is a popular lunchtime habitat for working individuals (when it’s not a party avenue for boozy nightcrawlers). Located at and run by KOI Brunch + Beats, Superbowl is all set to be the buzziest chirashi-don contender in the food scene, and it’s definitely beginning with a bang as it opens next week.
Happening only from 10 to 12 May – as part of its opening promo – Superbowl is whipping out chirashi-dons at just $5 a bowl (yes, you read that right). Expect fish bowls densely compacted with fresh salmon, tuna and swordfish sashimi over short-grain rice; a satisfying fast food option that’s filling without being too heavy. Even if you miss this three-day promo, we hear these chirashi-dons only go for $10 a pop, which is still affordable for a lunch in the city if you ask us. Other chirashi-don selections include the flame-torched fish bowl (filled with aburi salmon, tuna, swordfish, and scallop topped with fish roe), and for those who wanna stave off the sashimi, the beef bowl with sliced beef, onions, and an onsen egg – both will also go for $10 each.
Superbowl, Level 3, 8 Circular Road, Singapore 049364, p. 6557 0467. Open Mon-Fri 11am-3pm.
