1. Asiatique

For fun times, drop in to catch a puppet show or the Calypso cabaret. Go for a spin on Thailand’s largest Ferris wheel, ride the classic merry-go-round, or give yourself a scare in the Haunted House of Mystery Mansion. If the hunger pangs are calling, have dinner on The Sirimahannop, a 475-tonne three-mast ship – the last of its kind to be used in warfare by the Royal Thai Navy.

2. The One Ratchada

A favourite for locals and tourists, this night market has indoor and outdoor areas. The crowd leans young, so the atmosphere is always lively. You’ll find stalls hawking vintage and second-hand clothes, toys, antiques, collectables and the odd vinyl crate. 3. Chang Chui Night Market

For something different and a little out of the way, this night market sits in the arty Chang Chui Creative Space. Its centrepiece is the shell of a Tristar aeroplane that now houses Na-Oh restaurant. Between the permanent restaurants, cafes, and boutiques, you can buy second-hand and vintage t-shirts, toys, and leather goods. Sculptures and murals dot the space, making it a feast for the eyes and Instagram snaps. Oh, and the space often hosts live music performances and the occasional DJ to accompany your snacking and drinks.

P.S. the night market is so popular that it’s often hard to find seating, so be ready to snack on the go. Shop apparel and accessories between bites of Korean fried chicken, pad Thai, and giant crepes slathered with Nutella. 9. Ong Ang Walking Street

Between the fairy lights, street art and historical architecture, it’s easy to keep coming back to this vibrant night market. Live music from buskers and street performers adds to the festive atmosphere. For something different, you can hire one of the kayaks to paddle up and down Ong Ang Canal.
