Seseh Villa Review
Sound of the crashing ocean. Tick.
Wide open spaces. Tick.
Beautiful four-poster mosquito net clad beds. Tick.
The Shore Bali ticks a lot of boxes.
Honeycombers HQ has moved to the coastal village of Seseh this week, which is the next beach along from Canggu, Bali. Of course we are reporting on the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment scene, but trying to leave this enormous 5 bedroom villa may prove to be a challenge.
The Shore is completely oceanfront, so the first thing we noticed walking in was the sound of the ocean lapping the beach, metres in front of the village. It’s going to be hard to drag ourselves to a beach bar with views like this.
Seseh is a quiet neighbourhood, where you might have to stop while a Balinese ceremony takes place across the road, yet its only 30-40 minutes from the bustling Seminyak.
The villa itself is two buildings with two pools, an infinity edge pool overlooking the ocean and a lap pool that runs through (and under the lounge room floor) of the waterfront house. The buildings are old school with all the mod-cons. We love the Balinese architecture and four-poster beds donned with romantic (and functional) nets.
All 5 bedrooms are large, 4 of them have lounge areas within the room, all with ensuites and there is a media room perfect for an afternoon TV session. (It sleeps 10 adults and up to any number of kids).
Finally, the kitchen is standout, with a stunning feature gas top oven with floor to ceiling glass window walls looking out to the garden.
We think this would be a perfect villa for 5 couples with kids that can swim, or alternatively we would recommend hiring a nanny to look out for little ones taking an unplanned dip.
