The MasterChef Asia winner bested 14 other contestants in the gruelling 2015 competition<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Since winning MasterChef Asia\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve continued to bartend at The Horse\u2019s Mouth (#B1-39 Forum The Shopping Mall) , where our cocktails are inspired by the classics. I\u2019m also working on a cookbook, planning a few pop-ups and there\u2019s also talk of some exciting collaborations in the near future.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Aiglon and Anti:dote\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

are two of my favourite cocktail bars in Singapore, aside from The Horse\u2019s Mouth \u2013 of course! I enjoy making \u2013 and drinking \u2013 a dry Martinez or a Last Word. Try either or both the next time you visit a cocktail bar!<\/p>\n

I love the intense flavours of hawker food\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

and how it has influenced the Singapore restaurant scene to profile the flavours in their menus.<\/p>\n

\"Hokkien
Hokkien mee – one of Singaporeans’ favourite hawker food<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

My top three local dishes\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

are a good bowl of bak chor mee<\/a> (minced pork noodles) from Tai Hwa (#01-12, 466 Crawford Lane) in Lavender or the controlled smokiness of the Hokkien mee<\/a> (stir-fried prawn noodles, 396 East Coast Road) cooked over charcoal at Geylang Lor 29. But, for comfort food, nothing beats the chicken rice<\/a> that I get from one of my favourite hawkers such as Wee Nam Kee, Loy Kee, or Tian Tian.<\/p>\n

Enjoying a cup of kopi (coffee with condensed milk)\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

brings back so many memories of growing up. I just love the overly-roasted bitterness of this local brew.<\/p>\n

I love running through the Singapore Botanic Gardens or the Central Business District, visiting numerous art exhibitions, and checking out the local music scene.<\/p>\n
