Can\u2019t beat a good ol\u2019 catch-up with friends over some divine nosh and a bottle of vino. In fact, our mate dates are a highlight of the week! And when scouring Singapore for a restaurant suitable for group dining, there\u2019re a few things high on our hit-list. Firstly, the food needs to be top-notch (there\u2019re a lot of tastebuds to please). Secondly, the ambience needs to be spot-on; not too crowded, but equally not too quiet (because, let\u2019s be honest, after a few drinks there will be raucous banter). And thirdly, you don\u2019t want to break the bank (living in the world\u2019s most expensive city means we\u2019re always on the hunt for top nosh at affordable prices!). Good news: <\/span>Opus Bar & Grill at Hilton Singapore<\/span><\/a> on Orchard Road has got a stonking steak deal going on right now that we think ticks all the boxes. <\/span><\/p>\n

Gourmet grub? <\/span>Ding<\/span><\/i>! Serving up some of Australia\u2019s finest beef from Rangers Valley, this steak will impress even the most discerning carnivores. Buzzy atmosphere? <\/span>Ding<\/span><\/i>! The restaurant is small enough to feel intimate, yet big enough to ensure there\u2019s a buzz in the air (plus you can watch the chefs in action in the open kitchen for extra entertainment!). Value for money? <\/span>Ding<\/span><\/i>! Word on the street is that there are several wining and dining deals to be had every day of the week. Rally the troops; a feast is afoot!<\/span><\/p>\n

The menu features several sharing dishes made for mate date dining, and with steak sourced from Australia\u2019s Rangers Valley (these guys specialise in pure Black Angus and Wagyu cross-breeds; sounds like a winning genetic combo to us), your inner caveman will rejoice. For the ultimate indulgence, order the 1.2kg Rangers Valley Angus T-Bone ($120++). Seasoned with black lava sea salt and masterfully grilled over an open-flame charcoal grill, the unique smoky flavour will leave you salivating. Did we mention it has a marble score of 3+ (hello beautifully fatty, tender tenderloin and strip loin!)? The equally delicious \u00a0800g OP rib ($120++) is dry-aged in-house for 14 to 36 days, sounds delish! Both of these prime cuts are made for two to share.<\/p>\n

If steak ain\u2019t your thing, fret not! The menu also features a variety of alternative gastro creations from the land and sea. Not only that, the good peeps at Opus are committed to serving sustainable seafood (it\u2019s the first resto in Singapore to be recognised with the Marine Stewardship Council certification!). We love the sound of MSC-certified Glacier 51 toothfish fillet served with charred leek ,broccolini and brown butter dashi; or 36-hour pork belly served with baby romaine, beetroot and ginger pumpkin puree; or hoisin and sesame glazed rack of lamb. A serious case of food envy is inevitable.<\/span><\/p>\n
