We also love Malaysian bakery LinLin Cake Shop<\/a> for outrageously OTT creations featuring plush toys, fondant characters and even fresh flowers. Plus, KL-based Sugar Blossom<\/a> does precious vintage cakes that come in a riot of colours and vibrant 2D or 3D characters.<\/p>\n

With these kitschy cakes, more is more \u2013 the more garish the design, the better! The \u201cbasic\u201d buttercream vintage cake (though if we\u2019re honest, they\u2019re anything but basic) usually has layers of piped frosting, some with text on top. More elaborate designs include luscious fruits, crowns or even 3D characters having a party on top of the cake. Most bakers allow you to fully customise your creation, from selecting the flavours to choosing the colours. Get a flamboyant cake for your birthday or opt for a delicate pink theme for the princess in your life \u2013 the choice is yours!<\/p>\n
