For many couples, it’s all about love at first sight\u00a0\u2013 something Clara and Jason experienced when they first spotted the\u00a0Rippon Lea Estate<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Elsternwick, Melbourne. A historic estate with oodles of heritage and charm,\u00a0all it took was one visit for the betrothed couple to decide that it was The One<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Real<\/p>\n

How he\u00a0proposed:<\/strong>
\nJason and I\u00a0went to a vineyard for lunch one day and I thought\u00a0that we were there just to celebrate his\u00a0birthday. After lunch, we went for a walk around the grape vines. Jason got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.<\/em><\/p>\n

The bride’s look:<\/strong>
\nI wanted a dress that was elegant, lacy, and practical for walking, sitting, and eating. I went through lots of photos online until finally coming across The One: a Luna Novias\u00a0gown, which had a princess-y feel without being too poufy, pretty back details, and an\u00a0illusion neck line that suited my body type. I tried it on at\u00a0Violetta Bridal<\/a>\u00a0boutique in Melbourne, loved it,\u00a0and that was it!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Real<\/p>\n

The groom’s look:<\/strong>
\nJason wanted the suits to be classic but not too formal to suit our garden theme wedding. He got his suit from MJ Bale<\/a> in a different colour\u00a0from his groomsmen to stand out.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Real<\/p>\n

The venue:<\/strong>
\nRippon Lea Estate<\/a> in Elsternwick, Melbourne\u00a0was the first and only place we viewed and we immediately fell in love with it. Since it is a\u00a0heritage building, it provided an elegant setting for our wedding.\u00a0The mansion itself has an amazing fa\u00e7ade and the gardens surrounding was a great place\u00a0for our guests to mix and mingle. It’s also 20 minutes away from the city, making it an\u00a0easy commute for our\u00a0local guests.<\/em><\/p>\n

The wedding theme:<\/strong>
\nThe inspiration for the elegant vintage theme came from the venue itself.\u00a0I am also a fan of lace, so we incorporated lots of lace\u00a0into our wedding stationery and of course, my\u00a0wedding dress.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Real<\/p>\n

The ceremony:<\/strong>
\nThe flower arch at the ceremony made by lulu bird<\/a> was such a beautiful backdrop and it really exceeded my expectations. But my favourite part of the ceremony was walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Real<\/p>\n

The reception:<\/strong>
\nTo suit the venue, we served modern Australian cuisine at dinner. The cake was an ombre macaron tower \u2013 I’ve always loved macarons and wanted them\u00a0incorporated\u00a0into my wedding cake.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Real<\/p>\n

The wedding favours:<\/strong>
\nWe wanted the favours to have special meaning. So we gave our guests pins from the Starlight Foundation<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0donation they gave in lieu of a wedding gift.<\/em><\/p>\n

Clara’s wedding advice for brides-to-be:<\/strong>
\nDon\u2019t forget the take a moment to hold your partner\u2019s hands and take in the day. Enjoy the moment when you can. It can go by very quickly!<\/em><\/p>\n
