one-north isn\u2019t exactly the first place that comes to mind when you\u2019re looking for cool digs<\/a> to knock back pints<\/a> over gourmet grub<\/a>, and maybe even take in live music<\/a>, but that\u2019s all going to change. Timbre\u2019s latest venture, Timbre+, plans to spice up the Westside business district with a positively mammoth<\/em> new gastropark that\u2019ll feature 35 food and beverage partners. 14 of which are helmed by chef-owners and entrepreneurs, while the rest are traditional mom and pop stalls. And you can even wash all that down with a bucket of beer from Timbre’s self-service bottle shop, featuring rarities and craft brews<\/a> that will appeal to lovers of boutique beers.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not going to spoil the surprise and name them all, but we\u2019ve picked out five of the outlets we\u2019re most excited about.<\/p>\n

Big Bern’s American Grill<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The eponymous Big Bern (Bernie Utchenik) is all set to serve up hearty American comfort foods with a little Southern Louisiana spice. Look out for favourites like the Cajun chicken po boy.<\/p>\n

Fishball Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Soft, tender fishballs made with 100% fish meat are this new-generation hawker’s forte. If you’re hankering a comforting bowl of fishball noodles, Fishball Story is sure to sate those cravings.<\/p>\n

Dust by Slake<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Peranakan food doesn’t have to be too rich or fatty. This hip-er, more health conscious take on Peranakan cuisine explores lighter takes on classic dishes with bold elements like rendang oil.<\/p>\n

Gar\u00e7ons<\/strong><\/h3>\n

French food doesn\u2019t always have to be a stuffy haute dining affair. Chef-owners, Enoch Teo and Immanuel Tee, serve up classic French fare with modern flair at prices that won’t break the bank.<\/p>\n

The World Is Flat by Tanuki Raw<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re at Timbre+ with your posse, you can\u2019t go wrong with a couple of slices of pizza to share. Whether you prefer a hearty deep-dish pizza or a flaky flat crust, this new concept will take you beyond the more pedestrian cheeses and toppings.<\/p>\n

Food is great and all, but this is<\/em> Timbre right? So, of course in addition to delectable dining options, from Wednesday to Saturday nights you’ll be regalled by the sweet sounds of Timbre resident musicians The Common People, Sweatshop Jam, Supersonic and OK Ready!. Adding to the hipster-chic appeal of the whole affair is street art from Singaporean urban arts collective, RSCLS, who’ve decked out the gastropark’s shipping containers and vintage Airstream trailers with their whimsical graffiti characters.<\/p>\n
