Feeling frazzled, tired, and aching all over? Sounds like the symptoms of working hard and playing harder \u2013 and that\u2019s exactly how I felt prior to my visit to <\/span>Calla Spa<\/span><\/a>. Having recently given you the skinny on this swish <\/span>new spa launch<\/span><\/a>, I awaited its grand opening with bated breath and \u2013 never one to turn down an invite \u2013 hot-footed it to Suntec City as soon as its doors opened. With treatments ranging from reflexology and body scrubs, to facials and oxygen infusion therapy (your guess is as good as mine!), I dragged my weary behind to this tranquil haven for a rejuvenating afternoon of <\/span>indulgent pampering<\/span><\/a> in the hopes I\u2019d emerge feeling brand new and shiny. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Stepping into Calla Spa is like\u00a0stepping into the tardis; on the outside is the overwhelming hubbub of Suntec City, on the inside expect a zen-like (and wonderfully smelling) pocket of peace and serenity. While sitting down to complete the obligatory health check form, I could already feel that inner coil of stress and tension unwinding. After deciding upon the signature Calla Spa massage as a treatment (more on that later), I was then whisked away to the steam room, sauna, and hot pool for some chill time before the main event.<\/span><\/p>\n

This watery oasis is the perfect way to start or finish (or both!) any spa session. Rid your body of all\u00a0<\/span>toxins and other skin nasties in the steam room and sauna, before taking a dip in the mineral hot pool. \u00a0After thirty minutes of utter bliss, I was feeling suitably relaxed and ready for a much needed pummeling courtesy of the masseuse.<\/span><\/p>\n

The signature Calla Massage I\u2019d opted for featured a blend of finger point pressure, lymph node movement, and Swedish techniques designed to eradicate toxins and improve overall well-being. This technique was firm without being painful, and soothing to the point where I almost fell asleep; the perfect combo! I\u2019m no expert when it comes to massage, but I can confirm that a nagging pain I\u2019d been experiencing in my neck for several weeks magically disappeared after this hour-long treatment. Huzzah! <\/span><\/p>\n

After all of my hard work researching the facilities (<\/span>ahem)<\/span><\/i>, I\u2019d managed to build up quite the appetite and made a beeline straight for the in-house casual fine-dining bistro. Featuring a menu packed with fresh, healthy treats, it\u2019s not only your aching muscles that get the special treatment here \u2013\u00a0your tastebuds will too! The best part? Food is free-flow!<\/span><\/p>\n

Though I didn\u2019t get the chance to test out the lounge areas, I\u2019d recommend carving some extra time out of your day to make the most of those facilities. The huge reclining chairs looked incredibly inviting and I could easily while away an hour or two post-treatment watching a movie. Though be warned: with so many luxurious treats on offer you may never want to leave!<\/span><\/p>\n
