Now before you start chugging through the wall in exasperation like a locomotive<\/a> gone loco, we have to assure you that while this may be a farewell show for the Rail Corridor Art Space<\/a> \u2013 it isn\u2019t goodbye! As it turns out, this gritty, guerrilla-styled<\/a> arts space<\/a> is merely shutting down temporarily due to piping works (phew!), and not some licensing fiasco that\u2019s thrown a spanner in the works of nightlife spots a-many. A joint collaboration between National Arts Council\u2019s Noise Singapore and Lush 99.5FM\u2019s Lush Loves Local \u2013 both leading visionaries in the promotion of homegrown, original music<\/a> \u2013 Rail Collidoscope<\/a> plans to see the Art Space off with a bang next month.<\/p>\n

While deets are still scant on who\u2019s playing and what fringe events are happening, we can tell you \u2013 from our past experience in attending these spontaneous jamborees \u2013 why you should be stoked for this swan song. There\u2019s the scenery for one: instead of the stuffiness and scrunchiness of clubs<\/a> and concert halls<\/a>, you have all the space you need in the great outdoors<\/a> surrounded by forestry and the urban decay of the adjacent railway tracks. Then, there are the huge graffiti murals<\/a> that liven up the alfresco atmosphere<\/a> with swathes of colour and tagged trippiness \u2013 and these are all done right in front of your very eyes.<\/p>\n

And last but not least, you have the music that never ceases to amaze. The Rail Corridor Art Space has seen local acts throw parties<\/a> like the Rail Jammin\u2019 <\/em>and Off The Rails<\/em>, dropping tunes from the disciplines of reggae, jungle, hip-hop, soul, funk and more off-beat genres. Both Noise Singapore and Lush Loves Local have championed live bands too in their own right, so we won\u2019t be surprised if we were to catch live bands at this concluding edition too! As quick as a steam engine, we will keep you posted on further deets.<\/p>\n
