This elegant Duxton Hill spot is Kurt Wagner’s heartfelt tribute to his late adoptive brother, Tamba. You’ll be whisked into a fascinating world of African earth tones, artisan-crafted walls, and stunning photography. It feels like you’re dining in a friend’s incredibly chic living room. Oh, and prepare for one of Singapore’s most hospitable teams. They ensure first-time guests get the full story behind this special place.

The menu deeply respects West African cuisine, often with a delightful kick from woodfire-grilled dishes, and easily tops our list of the most unique food in Singapore. Our favourite starter is the elevated bread and butter (goat’s milk ricotta, smoked bacon butter, smoked honey) – a simple offering transformed into an entire experience.

For mains, the Sinyea rice with sakura chicken is hearty and perfectly spiced. P.S. the pepper soup is the spiciest thing on the menu. We coughed a little, but the heat builds pleasantly, leaving your stomach wonderfully warm. Oh, and before you leave, visit the bathroom and say hi to the alligator hidden in the floor – it’s the best part. We love to see it!

The restaurant has undergone a revamp since its launch, emerging with a fresh culinary identity: a new local team at the helm, and a menu that boasts contemporary Asian cuisine. But don’t worry, we’re happy to report it’s the same ol’ Air. Our dinner kicked off with a few starters, with the purple potato flatbread being our top favourite. Tip: Spread the accompanying mushroom “XO” butter for a touch of savouriness.

For mains, we highly recommend getting the glazed duck breast with sambal ijo. The meat is nicely charred (so you won’t taste any gameyness) and absorbs the sauce – very reminiscent of Indonesian grilled duck, which we were told inspired this dish. Oh, don’t forget to order the Air fries! We ended our meal with the refreshingly sweet and tangy passionfruit granita.

Swinging by in the early morning? This place is all about vibrant chaos and communal feasting.

The secret? A closely guarded dough recipe, fermented to perfection, and top-quality ingredients flown in straight from Italy. It gets exciting when the medium fatty tuna makes an appearance. We love the mouthfeel – luscious, meaty, and juicy. The penultimate course is a who’s who of revered proteins: Kagoshima Akune gold A5 wagyu sharing space with Hokkaido sea urchin in a bowl.

Dessert features ice cream in rotating flavours, though we recommend swapping that out for the kakigori. This establishment isn’t just about elevating dishes – it’s a bold, modern interpretation rooted in tradition.

We experienced the restaurant’s take firsthand when it opened, and it totally blew us away. The bulaklak (deep-fried ruffled fat) is a textural marvel: crispy, rich, and utterly addictive. Don’t expect your usual sisig either! Hayop’s pork jowl and cheek are crispy, flavourful, and refined.

Our top recommendation? Without a doubt, the wagyu and watermelon sinigang – we still can’t stop thinking about this dish! The unexpected sweetness from the fruit brilliantly cuts through the rich wagyu, creating a perfectly balanced tamarind broth. It’s genius. Another must-try is the lumpia (spring rolls), a crispy, flavourful revelation.

Of course, you gotta save room for dessert: the buko pie. Begin your meal with a selection of enticing small plates before diving into its star attraction: the blistered, wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas. Each masterpiece is expertly flame-kissed in an Italian-imported oven, guaranteeing a crust that’s beautifully charred at the edges and wonderfully chewy in the centre.

We consistently return for the diavola, a spicy-savoury standout topped with creamy fior di latte, piquant salami, fresh chilli, and a light sprinkle of grana padano. It’s a perfectly balanced, punchy creation that excites the palate without overwhelming it. The classic margherita is another testament to Cicheti’s dough mastery – simple yet utterly perfect, showcasing the pristine quality of its ingredients.

Beyond the pizzas, Cicheti excels with its pasta. The gnocchi is a must-try for its incredibly rich, earthy depth and pillowy texture, where the bold truffle notes are beautifully complemented by the freshness of the chives.

For dessert, wrap things up with irresistible creations like the gluten-free Cicheti tiramisu.
