New Year\u2019s Eve is fast approaching, and if you haven\u2019t sorted your plans yet, you\u2019d better hop to it. Tickets are selling out fast, the champagne is on ice<\/a>, and we\u2019ve memorised the words to Auld Lang Syne. But for something a little bit different, Capitol Piazza New Year\u2019s Eve countdown is shaping up to be a sparkly shindig<\/a>. Complete with live music<\/a>, stage games, giveaways, and food and drink stalls, you\u2019re bound to have a jolly good time. Best of all \u2013 entry is free! Time to get those party poppers out and party like it\u2019s 1999 \u2013 or in this case, 2016!<\/p>\n

This is going to be one loud, vibrant do; well, it had to be given the evening\u2019s theme is light and colour! Come dressed in your brightest glad rags to ensure you\u2019ll fit in. The jam-packed schedule kicks off at 9pm to a thumping start, courtesy of the Urban Drum Crew. Drumming just got a whole lot cooler with the addition of LED lights, water and \u2018firehead\u2019 drumsticks (we have no idea what they are but they sound ace!).<\/p>\n

Live music is supplied in the form of up-and-coming local bands. First up are The Facade; no doubt they\u2019ll leave the ladies squealing in delight with their boy-band chutzpah. Second to take the stage is eccentric quartet, The Mad Hatter Project, who are set to dazzle with synthesiser-heavy piano music. Time to leave your dignity in 2015 while you sing and dance along!<\/p>\n

In between the live music extravaganza, expect stage games and giveaways to keep you entertained until the countdown begins. We love a freebie voucher or two, so don\u2019t be shy and get involved! With vouchers coming courtesy of the stores within Capitol Piazza, you might just bag yourself a glamorous new wardrobe or dining experience to kick off the year in style. Huzzah!<\/p>\n

Wait, there\u2019s more; food and drink will be in plentiful supply courtesy of some of our favourite tenants in Capitol Piazza. Think Spizza Mercato, Equilibrium, Ryu\u2019s Dining & Bar, and more. Time for one last feast before your New Year’s resolution kick in!<\/p>\n

The main event is, of course, the arrival of 2016! As the clock strikes midnight, prepare for a few surprises that will make the big moment memorable, before getting your groove on until 1am.
