Have you ever stayed at a hotel so fantastic, you didn\u2019t want to leave? Sitting pretty on the banks of the Han River, Hotel Naru Seoul – MGallery<\/a> might just make you feel that way. Anyone who\u2019s experienced their dream vacation will know the bittersweet emotions that surface when it inevitably comes to an end. And that\u2019s what happened to me on my final night. But let\u2019s backtrack to the day of my arrival, \u2018cos it was one of the grand highlights of my Seoul<\/a> trip.<\/p>\n

Hotel Naru Seoul – MGallery review: A dreamy retreat<\/h3>\n

After being cramped on a plane for hours and struggling with your hefty, uncooperative suitcase on the baggage carousel, the best feeling is when you get the keys to your hotel room, so you can take a breather and freshen up. From the airport drop-off to the check-in process, everything was oh-so-smooth at Hotel Naru Seoul – MGallery, which opened in 2022 as the first MGallery hotel in South Korea. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making sure we had whatever we needed to make our stay a five-star one.<\/p>\n

Situated in Mapo, less than an hour from Incheon International Airport via public or private transport, the hotel has 196 guest rooms that offer views of the Han River or Namsan Mountain. I was lucky enough to get the former, which didn\u2019t disappoint. Located on one of the higher floors, my Premier River Room proudly displayed floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular sunset sights featuring a glimpse of Seoul\u2019s skyline, the Bamseom islets, and busy vehicles moving along Mapo Bridge. Truly breathtaking!<\/p>\n

I absolutely adored the plush bed that embraced me with open arms each evening. Falling asleep here is easy peasy, especially when you can close the blinds and shut away the outside world with a click of a button. Oh, and did I mention the opulent bathroom? It\u2019s stocked with amenities by clean beauty brand Grown Alchemist, and if you\u2019re in the mood for a luxurious bath, just fill up the tub and relax. P.S. Those who want a nightcap can pop over to the minibar or fire up the Nespresso coffee machine.<\/p>\n

With different options for travellers, other accommodation options include suites such as the stunning Naru Suite, which houses a living and dining room, study rooms, and a terrace. You can also opt for family twin rooms with double beds or Premier Namsam, Deluxe River, or Superior Rooms.<\/p>\n

Wine and dine: A classy mix of comfort and charm<\/h3>\n

Seoul may be famous for its legendary assortment of family-run eateries, fine dining restaurants, charming cafes, and iconic bars, but sometimes you want to stay in after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. That\u2019s where Hotel Naru Seoul – MGallery excels. It\u2019s got you covered with five establishments specialising in French cuisine, dry-aged steaks, and afternoon tea. Wanna grab and go? Head to Mapo Eight for coffee, sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.<\/p>\n

For an indulgent start to the day, Restaurant Voisin is a sophisticated space perched on the 22nd floor where the daily breakfast buffet is held. And I can honestly say that it\u2019s one of the best hotel breakfasts I\u2019ve had in a while. The spread is sumptuous and you can snag seats by the stately windows for lovely riverside views.<\/p>\n

Start with a glass of fresh grapefruit, orange, grape, or detox juice as you wander around to scope out your options. Apart from the usual cereal options, fruits, sausages, hashbrowns, pastries, and charcuterie, load your plate with leafy green salads, juicy meats, and Korean dishes and sides. Don\u2019t forget about the mini scones and muffins – they\u2019re a treat! You can also get made-to-order egg dishes like omelettes and sandwiches for the table.<\/p>\n

Besides breakfast, the all-day dining restaurant offers lunch and dinner menus. Tip: enjoy an evening meal here with grilled meats and buffet-style desserts during the golden hour for photo-worthy moments. If you\u2019d like after-dinner drinks, head next door to Bar Voisin for cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and nibbles.<\/p>\n

Every day\u2019s a pool party at the hotel, thanks to its indoor and outdoor infinity pools. Both offer beautiful views of the river, but the latter is a glorious place to lounge and gaze at the panoramic sights before you. Make a splash, soak up sunny rays, or chill on one of the sunbeds for some quiet time. Tip: the poolside paradise is a peaceful spot earlier in the day, while evenings usher in exquisite sunsets. If you\u2019re feeling peckish, put in an order for light bites and a drink or two. P.S. There\u2019s also a fitness centre located in the hotel for those who can\u2019t go a day without working up a sweat.<\/p>\n

But those seeking to luxuriate in the tranquil vibes of a quiet neighbourhood away from the crowds should bookmark Hotel Naru Seoul – MGallery.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a five-minute walk from Mapo station, next to the Han River where you can enjoy serene strolls or cycling adventures. Plus, you’ll find plenty of little eateries nearby if you\u2019re up for an afternoon of exploring. I\u2019ll be back for more of that picturesque bliss!<\/p>\n
