The format is straightforward: participants run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, and repeat this eight times. The stations include machines like the Ski Erg and rower, sled push and pull, burpee broad jumps, farmer\u2019s carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. From your arms and shoulders to glutes, back and core, every part of your body is thoroughly worked.<\/p>\n

Hyrox can be done in four different categories: Open, for solo racers; Pro, an elevated version with heavier weights for experienced racers; Doubles, for partner workouts; and Relay, for teams of four.<\/p>\n

The race is broken down into 8km of running and eight functional workout stations that incorporate familiar everyday movements. Think pulling, pushing, rowing and throwing.
