Laundry.\u00a0 While I typically do this at home, I\u2019ve tried my fair share of laundromats across Singapore, whether out of necessity or curiosity. You can say I\u2019m a bit of a laundromat connoisseur.<\/p>\n

Most laundromats are purely practical \u2013 wash, dry, and fold \u2013 but some go the extra spin. Think vibey interiors, plush seats, curated playlists, and even artisanal coffee. Suddenly, laundry day doesn\u2019t feel like a chore. Here are the cool spots that make you wanna air your dirty laundry proudly in public.<\/p>\n

Most people would associate this run-down mall with bustling Japanese<\/a> eateries, but venture a little deeper and you\u2019ll stumble upon The Laundry Connection, a new self-service laundry that\u2019s unexpectedly cool. Forget dingy and practical \u2013 this spot greets you with striking pink lights and retro neon signs, a vibrant aesthetic that immediately sets it apart from the cookie-cutter laundromats nearby. Intrigued, I had to step in for a peek.<\/p>\n

Inside, the pink theme continues with glossy, salmon-hued oval tiles lining the walls. Washing machines and dryers sit neatly on one side, while two long mosaic tables offer space to chill, fold, or simply vibe while your laundry tumbles. I also spied a gachapon machine that pops out fresh-smelling laundry capsules\u2026 \u2018cos why not? Tbh, it didn\u2019t feel like a laundromat at all \u2013 more like a hip hangout serving Wes Anderson vibes.<\/p>\n

Geidion Wong, the laundromat\u2019s interior designer, was there during my visit, and we chatted animatedly about the space. According to him, there are plans to open other locations within the city area, each with its own colour scheme. How exciting!<\/p>\n

A stone\u2019s throw from Aljunied MRT station<\/a>, this laundrette stands out from its neighbours with beige and yellow hues, curved lines, a framed chalkboard sign filled with colourful hand-drawn doodles, and a curated playlist. You\u2019d be forgiven for thinking you\u2019ve just encountered a trendy new cafe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The space is decked out with ample washers and dryers, so you don\u2019t have to worry about swinging by and not getting a machine. I even spotted a few appliances with \u201cspecial care\u201d labels specifically for washing pet accessories, soft floor rugs<\/a>, and even school shoes. Neat! (And before you ask, unfortunately, pets aren\u2019t allowed into the space at the mo.)<\/p>\n

Beyond that, The Daily Tumble fashions itself as a \u201clifestyle laundromat\u201d. What does that mean? Well, you can grab a cuppa courtesy of beloved coffee roasters<\/a>, Dutch Colony Coffee Co. Sipping on a cappuccino while waiting for my laundry to be done? Don\u2019t mind if I do! There are seats if you wanna hang here, so go ahead and bring a book, plug in a podcast, or just sit back and watch the world go by.<\/p>\n

A ten-minute walk from The Daily Tumble led me to this laundromat along Geylang<\/a> Road. Kaki Laundry may be smaller compared to the others on this list, but don\u2019t let that fool you \u2013 it\u2019s still mighty. The adorable logo caught my eye first, followed by the sitting area decked out in green tiles. It\u2019s giving old-school void deck vibes, and I\u2019m so here for it.<\/p>\n

This coin laundry also offers dry cleaning services. Everything\u2019s welcome here, from evening dresses<\/a> and baju kurungs to curtains and bedding<\/a>. Just pop your head into the little curved nook near the entrance, hand over your items, and leave it to the pros. Feeling peckish? While outside food and drinks aren\u2019t allowed, you can grab a canned or bottled drink from the vending machine at the corner.<\/p>\n

It felt like I was trespassing into someone\u2019s stylish laundry room when I entered the hangout. The laundromat is large and bright, with several washing machines and dryers neatly spaced out. A wooden table with matching chairs comfortably seating six sits in the centre, while a bar table and stools line the floor-to-ceiling glass window. And that heavenly aroma? Thank the coffee machine in the corner for that.<\/p>\n

But Hangout Laundry isn\u2019t just about clean clothes \u2013 it\u2019s about community too. The space occasionally hosts gigs (aka \u201changouts\u201d, how cute!) where customers can mingle, vibe, and make laundry day actually fun. As you\u2019ve expected by now, The Good Husband Laundromats & Drycleaners ain\u2019t no ordinary self-service laundry. Right off the bat, I love the tongue-firmly-in-cheek name. It also reflects the founder\u2019s fondness for being in charge of this task at home. Bonus points!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s very easy to find this laundromat \u2013 just keep your eyes peeled for an aviation-themed space on the second floor of Komo Shoppes. A fair warning, though: it may be sensory overload for some folks. Colourful lights from the vending machines, a floor design mimicking an airport runway, and some unconventional touches you rarely see in a laundry spot. Massage chairs and claw machines, anyone? Try your luck grabbing a Labubu<\/a>! Yes, it\u2019s a lot, but somehow it all works\u2026 like maximalism done right.<\/p>\n

Apart from the fancy appearance, this \u201cgood husband\u201d also goes above and beyond by offering to take laundry off your hands. Services include wash and fold, ironing, and drycleaning, with a turnaround time of five days. Need your items on the same day?
