The iconic Tanjong Beach Club has reopened after a four-month facelift with a new look and menu \u2013 but it retains the same laidback vibes. \u201cThis is the life,\u201d I thought to myself when I walked in. Who doesn\u2019t aspire to be one of the people chilling by a pool at a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehoneycombers.com\/singapore\/best-beach-clubs-bars-in-singapore\/\">beach club<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/thehoneycombers.com\/singapore\/sentosa-singapore-things-to-do\/\">Sentosa<\/a> on a random Wednesday afternoon? I was obviously late to the party.<\/p>\n<h2>Tanjong Beach Club review: What I love about the revamped beach club<\/h2>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"SG&#039;s coolest beach club is back!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4xcseQkbXR4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Think of the space as a Palm Springs-esque mid-modern century playground filled with pops of terracotta, yellow and red, contrasting beautifully with tropical cacti and flora landscaping (designed by This Humid House). Walk straight ahead, and you\u2019ll find the main dining area that seamlessly transitions from indoor to outdoor. Here, you won\u2019t miss the massive mural by local artist Aeropalmics.<\/p>\n<p>I love how the bar on your right flows right into the VIP lounge. The star of the show is the pool area. While you\u2019re on your way there, don\u2019t forget to stop at the cool retail space that blends beach-day staples with design-forward finds from around the world. Think celeb-loved swimsuits from Kiohne (Greece), hand-woven raffia hats by Jace Banu (Australia) and cult bottle bags by Singapore\u2019s Tanchen Studio. Perhaps chef Mong Zhen Yew (formerly from Osteria Mozza and Spago) knows that too and wants to prove us wrong. Spoiler alert: he succeeds. Wood-fired coastal cuisine shines throughout the menu.<\/p>\n<p>Think grilled oysters with lardo-garlic butter ($27 for three; $52 for six), smoky Hokkaido scallop aguachile ($34), and a lobster tabbouleh ($32) that tasted like summer in a bowl. The wood-fired grill (only fired up after 12pm, FYI) is where the magic happens. The dry-aged barramundi ($36 filet, $78 whole) hits all the right notes, but the wood-fired half chicken ($36)? I can\u2019t help but judge a little when someone orders plain old boring chicken, but this was an unexpected star. And don\u2019t sleep on the wild mushrooms ($16) \u2013 they\u2019re rich, meaty and coated in an umami bomb of a sauce.<\/p>\n<h3>Cocktails with main character energy<\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re not sipping a margarita by the pool, you\u2019re doing it wrong. The new drinks menu (crafted with cocktail crew Cat Bite Club) is made for day-to-night sipping. I started with the cucumber-cool Tanjong Coast ($25) followed by the Weekend at Margie\u2019s ($23) with tequila, Aperol and passion fruit for something layered. Want drama? Order a drinks package (from $418) for a magnum of bubbly. There are also exclusive bottles like the Gounel-Lassalle Esprit Voyageur to make it a party.<\/p>\n<h3>Music that keeps the vibes high<\/h3>\n<p>Of course, the party element still stands strong at the beach club. Expect nu-disco, balearic grooves and soulful house curated by DJs who\u2019ve spun at Coachella and Wonderfruit. Their label, Silk Road Sounds, is all about spotlighting emerging artists from Asia and beyond. Check Tanjong Beach Club\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tanjongbeachclub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Instagram page<\/a> for the monthly DJ line-up.<\/p>\n<h3>Where to park your beach bum: Seating options and minimum spend<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Coastal tables:<\/strong> Right on the sand and perfect if you like dining with your toes in it. No minimum spend required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pool lounge:<\/strong> Ideal for big groups who want to be close to the action without fully committing to the sand (no promises though!). Minimum spend: $150 &#8211; $400.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pool daybeds:<\/strong> Front-row seats to the poolside party. Minimum spend: $150 &#8211; $400.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beach daybeds:<\/strong> Perfect for couples who want to stretch out and soak up the beach club buzz. Minimum spend: $150 &#8211; $400.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Signature daybeds:<\/strong> My favourite spot \u2018cos it\u2019s comfy and spacious with killer views of Tanjong Beach. Minimum spend: $200\u2013$650.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beach loungers:<\/strong> Chill option for pairs \u2013 think lazy date or a catch-up over spritzes and snacks. Minimum spend: $80 &#8211; $200 (includes two loungers).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dining room:<\/strong> Air-conditioned and indoors for when it gets too toasty. No minimum spend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dining terrace:<\/strong> Outdoor dining with a view of the pool \u2013 great for golden hour hangs. No minimum spend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Bar:<\/strong> Pull up a high chair or sink into a sofa. No minimum spend, great for people-watching.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunset Cabana:<\/strong> Private, shaded and made for luxe lounging. We hear bookings come with an Aesop kit!
