href="https://thehoneycombers.com/singapore/cafes-with-wifi-in-singapore/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">work-friendly cafe in Singapore! Yasuragi is a Japanese term meaning peace and tranquillity, and this spot is perfect for you to park yourself, have a drink, and tap away on your keyboard (or chat with friends). The interior gives off chic, moody vibes, thanks to the deep teal walls and tan leather seats. And yes, there are power plugs, so your devices will never run out of juice. We love the bar seats near the entrance, which offer generous natural lighting (we’re like house plants that way).

On the menu, you can customise your own soup set with broth bases, proteins like pork belly and chicken thigh, and rice or udon varieties. Pastries are also available, with familiar picks like kouign amann ($4.50), croissants (from $3.90), and cruffins (from $5.50).

Oh, and take your time selecting your drink ‘cos it’s a doozy – from coffee and tea to chocolate beverages and cocktails, the selection is truly jaw-dropping. We recommend the signature latte ($6.40) and the banana oat matcha latte ($7.90) for first-time visitors. But if you want to challenge your palate, we suggest getting the yuzu tonic espresso ($7.20). Caffeinated soda with citrus notes shouldn’t work, but we enjoyed this. The orange spice mocha ($8.90) is on the list for our next visit!

Must-try items: Sticky cinnamon bun with pecan nuts; banana oat matcha latte
How much: Pastries from $3.90; coffee from $3.90; non-coffee from $6.40; specialty drinks from $7.20
Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays, 7.30am to 9.30pm, Fridays, 7.30am to 10pm and Saturdays, 11.30am to 10pm
Address: #01-93/94, Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore 039596

Visit Cafe Yasuragi

Living Room

Photography: Living Room via Instagram

Wanna have a little adventure before you settle down with coffee? See if you can find your way to this small cafe that’s literally hidden within Late Morning, a tableware shop along South Bridge Road. The local brand is known for its curated dinnerware, and the team has branched out to offer food and brews as well.

The space is small – think Harry Potter at the bottom of the stairs – so we don’t recommend hanging out for too long. No clickity-clacks and flash photography here, sweeties! Living Room is more for chill vibes, quiet catch-ups with friends, and one chapter of that book you’ve been putting off.

Ricotta and sourdough are the main characters in the food menu, with four options for you to feast on. Our favourite is the charred chilli and ricotta on sourdough ($13). We could still taste the spiciness despite the cheese; we’re glad the ricotta didn’t overpower the charred chilli. The blueberry, thyme, honey, and ricotta on sourdough ($13) is a commendable sweet option. There’s also the half & half (additional $3) if you can’t decide which toast to get.

Drinks-wise, we were pleasantly surprised by the matcha coconut ($7). The coconut water pairs well with the green tea, and sipping the concoction made us feel like we’re immediately transported to a beach holiday in the Maldives. Hit up the barista if you want filtered coffee, made with Living Room’s beans that are roasted in-house.

Must-try items: Charred chilli, ricotta on sourdough; blueberry, thyme, honey, ricotta on sourdough
How much: Food from $6; drinks from $6
Opening hours: Daily, 11am to 7pm
Address: 230 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058779

Visit Living Room

Error 404

Photography: Chen Liang via Google Images

This cafe ain’t no loading mistake – it marks chef Pang’s (from the now-closed Antoinette) return to Singapore’s dessert scene. Error 404 presents traditional Chinese desserts in a sleek, minimalist setting, with a familiar, adorable logo that’ll make you pause and stare for a good minute. The (artificial) tree in the middle of the space is another conversation starter, and easily our favourite decor.

True to chef Pang’s culinary skills, the menu features creations that’ll have you whipping out the cameras before tucking in. The Fake Waffle ($12.80) features mochi that’s been transformed into a waffle, with matcha ice cream, ube mont blanc, creme Chantilly, roasted soybean powder, brown sugar crumble, candied red beans, and black sugar syrup playing the dutiful supporting characters. It might seem like a lot, but everything worked so well together – we were fighting to finish the bowl. No paiseh piece here!

There’s a warm dessert section if you want something more heartening, or you can forego the sweets and opt for hot food items. The braised pork rice (from $8.80) will definitely make you miss Taiwan a little more. Pair your food with iced beverages ranging from matcha to various teas. The “duck poop” series had us intrigued, but we weren’t in the mood for anything too out there. Perhaps next time.

Overall, this is a return to form for chef Pang, and we expected nothing less. Error 404 might even surpass his previous venture, so long as he kept at it. First, have a unique name – which is what Fernweh did. It’s a German term that describes a longing for faraway travel. Fernweh is located within a capsule hostel, which really drives home the point of its name.

The cafe is bright and airy, with vibrant colours filling the space. It almost feels out of place in Chinatown, but that’s the beauty behind the facade. Overall, the vibes give Scandinavian chic, and we dig it.

Besides its name, Fernweh’s menu will also surprise you. The rendang beef Benedict ($22) fascinated us, but ultimately, we decided on the cheesy rendang spring rolls ($12). While we enjoyed the dish, we would’ve loved it if the rendang played a more prominent role. The crispy mala tofu fries ($12), however, earned our top vote. It was light and punchy, and made for the best starter.

One consolation is this pet-friendly spot welcomes furry buddies, so you can tuck into brunch and enjoy a lovely, slow weekend morning with your four-legged friends. Of course, we had to stop by to see what’s worth ordering. We kicked things off with the miso roasted cabbage, charred beautifully and coated in rich miso glaze, giving it a savoury depth with that crunch.

For mains, we tried the dirty nori capellini with fresh and juicy tiger prawns, as well as the thick, fatty pork jowl with truffle jus. The latter leaned towards the tougher and oilier side, with a mild truffle flavour and a creamy mashed potatoes pairing to balance out the meat’s richness.

Dalgona matcha latte and hojicha strawberry cold foam. Indulgent yet light, with just the right level of sweetness, it’s a dessert you can easily polish off on your own. Another item that caught our attention was the sourdough fries with cold foam, available in strawberry, matcha, and salted maple flavours. We learnt this creative dish came about by accident, though the pairing didn’t quite land for us, due to the slight oiliness of the bread.

Now on to the real highlight: the drinks. The dalgona matcha latte brought back all the nostalgic vibes from the pandemic years – like the old viral trend meeting a new wave, creating a surprisingly perfect chemistry. The hojicha strawberry cold foam didn’t disappoint either, pairing the strawberry beautifully with the roasted, nutty notes of the hojicha. But did you know it’s been hiding a new cafe in its midst? Well, now you do. Cloudfields is a true embodiment of “expect the unexpected”. From further away, it doesn’t look much, but once you’re in its space, you’re immediately engulfed by greenery, wood accents, and an eye-catching centrepiece, a nod to its industrial location.

A glance at the menu will make you recoil in horror. Yes, the prices may make your wallets weep, but it’s a small fee to pay for the Cloudfields dining experience. The Cloudkeepers Big Breakfast ($29) is brunch heaven on a plate. We loved the creamy eggs, and the beetroot ketchup was an interesting touch, though we would’ve loved the avocado to be slightly less burnt.

For desserts, we recommend the Lemon Drift ($12), a tangy treat balanced with sweetness. Think of it as a reward for trekking all the way to the area for food. Or you can skip that and order the signature Sky Meadows ($9) to accompany your big back meal. Matcha, yuzu cheese, and blue spirulina milk? Studio Frond turned that idea into reality with a minimalist space in Joo Chiat. The botanical matcha bar invites green (and black) thumbs to swing by, grab a cup of matcha, and design your own takeaway tray with flowers. Sounds fun, yes?

There are two matcha options for you to choose from, with Frond #2 being the more popular pick thanks to its herbaceous, umami flavour profile. If you’re not a matcha purist (good job on that), the specialty matcha drinks should be up your alley. The menu rotates, which means you’ll end up with a selection that’s surprise and delight. Just don’t get attached to them.

And what about the floral arrangement? We’re loving the chic, minimalist space, which is perfect for photos on the ‘gram and a quick hang.

The yoghurt is strained for 72 hours, resulting in a thick consistency that goes well with any toppings. Go for the pistachio butter for a nutty kick, and the black sesame granola for added texture to your bowl. Want a taste of Korea? The black sesame injeolmi mammoth bbang (Korean term for bread, $15) will transport you from Singapore to Seoul after your first taste.

If you think clean, no sugar bakes mean boring for your palate, you better think twice. Oatsome’s offerings are anything but dull. We fell head over heels for the pistachio cinnamon bun ($7), a match made in heaven in terms of flavour combinations. There’s no direct route to get to the cafe – you’ll have to climb down a flight of stairs to get to the entrance, but you’ll be rewarded with delicious coffee aromas.

Maxi’s biggest claim to fame is its iced cereal milk latte ($8), so we had to get it again to make sure it’s still top-tier. Well, we’re happy to report that nothing has changed. Some acidity peeked through during the first few sips, before we tasted the cherry notes. The combination of fruity and creamy made the latte an enjoyable drink.

We got the kaya butter toast ($8) to accompany our drink, and it felt like biting into a fluffy cloud. The bun was soft with a hint of sweetness, stuffed with generous portions of kaya and butter slabs. The price is a bit steep for a beloved local breakfast (damn you, inflation), but we’ll let it slide… just a little. If toast isn’t your thing, you can get other light bites like muffins or go for something more substantial like the tuna melt sandwich ($15).

Those who’ve been to the previous Maxi Coffee Bar will be glad to know the new digs are more spacious. We like the filter bar with counter seating, which allows customers to get a VIP view of how their food and drinks are prepared. The indoor dining tables are pretty close to one another, so be mindful if you plan to pop by in a group.
