What inspired you to become a life coach?<\/h4>\n

I didn\u2019t set out to be a coach. I had a client who was a senior leader and needed help to gain her first board-level position. Together, we worked out what coaching was. She got the role and I discovered how a powerful conversation based on deep presence and listening can be transformational. Since then, I\u2019ve seen how people can change, achieve their dreams and goals, and become more confident through the power of coaching.<\/p>\n

My clients are often mid-career women looking for a safe space, away from work, to talk about work. They come to me with questions about work and life. My role is to help clients access their wisdom, ambition, purpose and skill. I\u2019m also a warm, goal-oriented person. Running my practice for four years, I specialise in trauma recovery and emotional healing. What inspired you to become a life coach?<\/h4>\n

I\u2019ve always had that deep inner knowing that I was here to serve people. Along the way, I lost myself to traumatic events that included emotional and sexual abuse. I turned to alcohol and relationships to soothe my pain; because my nervous system shut down, I fell into depression.<\/p>\n

In the corporate world, I constantly burned out and had panic attacks. After I learned that the body keeps score, I understood my body was reacting to past traumatic events. My then-partner and I parted ways, and there was a reorganisation in my company so I left on amicable terms. This gave me the space to rediscover myself. During my trauma recovery and emotional healing journey, I observed someone dear to me lose herself to built-up anxiety and past trauma. That\u2019s when I understood the importance of taking care of our mental and emotional well-being.<\/p>\n

What type of questions do your clients usually ask?<\/h4>\n

They tend to ask, \u201cIs this it? Have I simply settled into my life and played it safe with my partner and my work? There must be more.\u201d Those going through a divorce or experiencing relationship issues or codependent traits ask me, \u201cWill I ever have a healthy relationship with someone special to me?\u201d<\/p>\n

What does your coaching style look like?<\/h4>\n

My coaching style is holistic and flexible; I go at the pace of my client\u2019s nervous system. Everyone is unique – they have different preferences and respond to various modalities differently. I support my clients based on their current needs for that session. It\u2019s a partnership, so we work towards their ultimate goal.<\/p>\n

What inspired you to become a life coach?<\/h4>\n

It was my journey of reaching the \u201ctop\u201d of my career and burning out. I had my self-worth entirely wrapped in my career. I didn\u2019t know who I was, what I valued or my purpose. I left my corporate marketing role and did self-discovery and introspection work through a coaching course. After the first module, I felt inspired to get certified to help other women get clarity on who they are – that they are wonderfully created for greatness.<\/p>\n

My style is spontaneous, fun, and no-nonsense. I believe each person is inherently wise, creative, resourceful and whole. I\u2019m a registered nurse with 20 years of nursing experience, a mum of three (including twins!) and a certified Sleep Sense consultant. I take a holistic approach to children\u2019s sleep training, working with parents and children to provide personalised sleep plans tailored to the family\u2019s needs. My clients have children up to age six.<\/p>\n

Over two weeks, I offer a support package which includes a detailed analysis of an in-depth questionnaire, a customised sleep plan for the child, a consultation on implementing the sleep plan and nursery safety assessment, as well as follow-up support.<\/p>\n

What inspired you to become a life coach?<\/h4>\n

Looking after patients for many years, I knew my skill set lay in being with people and helping them through difficult circumstances. I had twins at nearly 40 and realised how important sleep is for all aspects of life. When my twins slept through the night, it was life-changing. So, I combined my love of supporting people with my love of sleep and trained to be a sleep consultant.<\/p>\n

Examples include: My baby wakes frequently in the night. How do I get them to sleep longer? How can I get my toddler to stay in their bed? My baby is breastfeeding to sleep every two hours overnight – how do I change this?<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no blaming or shaming! Parenting is hard and it\u2019s my job to make my clients understand that it\u2019s normal. They\u2019ve done nothing wrong and they\u2019re not alone. What inspired you to become a life coach?<\/h4>\n

As a recovering perfectionist (I trained as a concert pianist in a competitive conservatory setting), I\u2019ve always pushed myself toward high performance. I\u2019m also a natural helper. This led to frequently overworking, overachieving, and over-extending my time and energy. I realised after hitting rock bottom that this \u201cautopilot\u201d way of living didn\u2019t make me substantially happier or richer.<\/p>\n

I studied coaching to pursue a more meaningful connection with myself and contribute to my surroundings positively. I wanted to share my wisdom and experience with fellow businesswomen.<\/p>\n

They ask me what needs to be done to create balance. But women often have no problem doing things. The problem is that we do too much. I often say, stop trying to do stuff. And I ask them who they want to be.<\/p>\n

I was often the go-to person for family and friends when they needed a sounding board or someone to help them with their concerns.
