Victoria Street in the Old Town is one of the most photographable spots in Edinburgh. And for good reason! The curving road and colourful shopfronts create a beautiful aesthetic that\u2019s great for Instagram. While it isn\u2019t stated explicitly, the street is credited as the inspiration for Diagon Alley, the ever-famous shopping area in the Harry Potter books. You\u2019ll find many stores selling Harry Potter memorabilia here, but we love just strolling through and pretending we\u2019re witches.

It\u2019s famous for its collection of landmarks which you can find throughout its land. This includes the incomplete National Monument which takes inspiration from the Parthenon in Athens. It’s meant to memorialise Scottish servicemen who died in the war.

4. Greyfriars Kirkyard<\/h3>\n

One of the popular tidbits of this cemetery is the story of Greyfriars Bobby, a skye terrier known for its fierce loyalty. He was known for guarding his owner\u2019s grave for 14 years! You\u2019ll find the statue of the pupper just outside Kirkyard. Besides being a memorial and burial ground to Bobby and a multitude of individuals from artists to scientists, it\u2019s also a hotspot for many ghost tours.
