How to get to Labrador Nature Reserve<\/h3>\n

There are a couple of ways to get to this park: by public transport and by car. If you\u2019re intending to take the train down, board the Circle Line and stop at Labrador Park MRT station. From there, it\u2019s just a quick 15-minute walk along Labrador Villa Road to reach the reserve.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re driving, there are two spots to park your car: Carpark A and B. The former will leave you near Tamarind Hill restaurant (great if you want to grab a bite before returning home); the latter will place you closer to the park\u2019s playgrounds and public toilets. Choose wisely!<\/p>\n

Labrador Nature Reserve guide: Lush trails and playgrounds<\/h2>\n

1. Berlayer Creek mangrove trail<\/h3>\n

If you want something relatively easy to conquer, Berlayer Creek mangrove trail is the perfect place to start. It takes less than an hour to complete, and the boardwalk is pretty straightforward to tackle \u2013 it lacks steep climbs and curves. Keep an eye out for critters lurking within the trees and mangrove swamp, such as the coastal horseshoe crab, monitor lizard, otters and stork-billed kingfisher. This trail also leads you to the Bukit Chermin boardwalk that winds around Keppel Harbour for some awesome coastal views.<\/p>\n

2. Maritime history trail<\/h3>\n

Before you take a turn into the Bukit Chermin boardwalk, you\u2019ll see a sign pointing you in the direction of the maritime history trail. Take this route for a deeper dive into Singapore\u2019s storied past. You\u2019ll find sights like the Dragon\u2019s Teeth Gate and Red Beacon, both of which acted as navigational markers for sailors back in the day.<\/p>\n

3. Heritage trail<\/h3>\n

Remember the secret tunnels and war remnants we talked about? Continue on from the end of the maritime history trail, and you\u2019ll find brick walls that mark the entrance to the heritage trail. This route takes you through Fort Pasir Panjang and contains old artefacts like cannons and walls with gun emplacements. You\u2019ll also find the gate to secret tunnels which were used by soldiers to store ammunition during the war.<\/p>\n

4. Labrador Nature Reserve playgrounds<\/h3>\n

Got kids in tow? There are two playgrounds at Labrador Nature Reserve to keep them entertained. The smaller playground near Dragon\u2019s Teeth Gate comes with a little merry-go-round, see-saws and a swing. The larger one on the east side of the park sports a more elaborate set-up with slides, tunnels and places to climb on. Take note these spots are both filled with sand, so you\u2019ll want to come ready with extra shoes or wipes to clean up.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve ever wanted to dine in a colonial bungalow, reserve a seat at Tamarind Hill restaurant for delicious Thai cuisine. This dining establishment is steeped in old world charm, and sits amidst lush greenery and quiet waters. We can\u2019t get enough of its beautiful high ceilings and candle-lit wall lamps. Looking for an alfresco experience? Just opt to sit in the outdoor area. The views here are stunning.
