(Psst: book directly to earn Hilton Honors loyalty points.) I took a tour of the hotel and checked in for a brief getaway of my own. Fun fact: the Digital Key feature allows advance check-in via the Hilton Honors app, as well as the unlocking of rooms, elevators and the fitness centre using a smartphone instead of a keycard.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is a short stroll away from Little India MRT station, a relatively central location that makes a city commute convenient. That said, it isn\u2019t exactly in the middle of the city, so I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing view. This small rooftop pool is best for taking in the sunset view, suntanning, or having a quick splash. It\u2019s quite compact, so if you\u2019re keen to swim laps, it might be a squeeze when there are others dipping in. For a proper workout sesh, I\u2019d recommend heading to the gym instead.<\/p>\n<p>On the lobby level, the 24-hour gym offers basic strength training equipment alongside a row of treadmills and exercise bikes. Stuffy gyms aren\u2019t up my street, so I appreciated the use of floor-to-ceiling mirrors and well-spaced equipment for a comfortable workout.<\/p>\n<p>Other facilities include a coin laundry on the pool level, as well as a money changer, computers and printers at the lobby. All that makes Hilton Garden Inn Singapore Serangoon a great option for longer term or business stays, too. Time to indulge in a buffet spread with western, regional and local eats! From omelettes and baked beans to roti prata and curry, it was a good selection that fuelled me up for the day.<\/p>\n<p>After an arvo of touring the hotel, hanging out by the pool and exploring nearby cafes, I popped back into the restaurant for lunch. The portions were generous, especially for the mains. That said, this intense dessert was made less heavy with berry coulis on the side, providing a naturally sweet and tart flavour that cut through the richness of the chocolate.
