How I get it done: Geraldine Pang<\/h2>\n

What is your backstory and why did you decide to launch your business?<\/h3>\n

I’ve always known I’d become an entrepreneur because I love learning, innovation, and the art of creation. I’m also motivated by the freedom and flexibility of running my own company (even though in reality I work longer hours than the usual 9 to 5). Jumping into the creative field was a no-brainer for me because I’ve always enjoyed the process of problem-solving for myself and my clients. Running a marketing agency also enables me to learn new skills and strategies to generate new concepts and ideas. I enjoy the fact that I can learn something new at work every day.<\/p>\n

On a typical morning<\/h3>\n

My morning routine consists of a cuppa ice coffee to kickstart the day. Then, I’ll sort out my emails and conduct morning stand-ups with my team. Following that, I’ll clear out all the intimidating tasks on my to-do list which I usually prepare the night before.<\/p>\n

On dealing with self-doubt and criticism<\/h3>\n

Over time and experience, I’ve trained myself to build resilience and to approach life with a “glass-half-full” mentality. We just need to accept that failures are bound to happen throughout our lives. If we choose to see positive learning outcomes in every circumstance, we’ll be much happier. I try to exercise positive thinking every day. This helps me get out of my own head. It also helps me remove myself from negative thinking patterns like self-doubt and criticism. I try to make a conscious effort to surround myself with optimistic and supportive people because the company you keep does have an impact and influence on your mental wellbeing.<\/p>\n

On keeping stress levels low<\/h3>\n

My dog is my therapist and I try to get as much playtime as I can with her, even in between work. Her bubbly energy helps me stress less.<\/p>\n

On staying motivated and energised<\/h3>\n

I try to work out at least three times a week so that I have enough brain fuel to concentrate better and work more efficiently. This can be anything from spinning, going to a yoga class or walking my dog. I also stay motivated by following thought leaders in different spaces through listening to podcasts or watching videos.<\/p>\n

On the advice you’d give your younger self<\/h3>\n

If I can turn back time, I’d remind myself that life is too short to care about what other people think. Not everyone will understand my journey. And it’s not their journey to make sense of mine.<\/p>\n

On winding down in the evening<\/h3>\n

I love drinking hot tea and listening to white noise to unwind.<\/p>\n
