Maxwell and Telok Ayer<\/h3>\n<p>Singapore-based American artist Sean Dunston\u2019s <strong>Samsui woman mural<\/strong> (pictured above) has been a topic of hot debate of late, with the URA requesting the removal of the depiction of smoking. We can\u2019t be sure if the mural will be tweaked, but your best bet is to gaze at the original while it\u2019s still there. This impressive artwork at the back of the temple spans 40 metres, telling the story of Hokkien immigrants building a life here. There\u2019s also another mural by him tucked away in the lobby of <strong>Amoy Hotel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>2. This playful burst of pastel hues comes to life on the side of The Working Capitol building, a prominent <a href=\"https:\/\/thehoneycombers.com\/singapore\/coworking-spaces-in-singapore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">co-working space<\/a> in the neighbourhood. Spot the <strong>Nutmeg Mural<\/strong> (21 Tanjong Pagar Road), a candy-coloured tribute to Singapore\u2019s heritage with depictions of a lion (because we were once known as the lion city), a sepoy (one of the first Indians to arrive here) and a nutmeg plant (the building was once a nutmeg plantation, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehoneycombers.com\/singapore\/emerald-hill-guide-orchard-road-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as many others were<\/a> in the past).<\/p>\n<h3>4. Stand outs include <b>Medley Alley <\/b>(150 East Coast Road) by Nicia Lam, Yullis Lam, Novena Angela, and Valerie Neo.
