We\u2019ve already marked our calendars for the highly anticipated Singapore International Film Festival<\/a>. And this time, we\u2019re also adding a special film event to our checklists \u2013 ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands will play host to Specters and Tourists<\/em>, a multi-screen and abstract exhibition by Japanese director Daisuke Miyazaki.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a strange, strange world<\/h3>\n

If you\u2019ve watched Daisuke\u2019s offbeat neo-noir film \u2018End of the Night\u2019, you\u2019d know not to expect a typical film experience at Specters and Tourists<\/em>. The non-linear and poetic exhibition consists of two parts: in Specters<\/em>, you\u2019ll observe the isolation and anxiety of modern life told in fragments of existing footage from Daisuke’s work. In Tourists<\/em>, you can follow two Japanese girls as they travel to Singapore on a whim and discover the uniqueness of our city.

Catch the director and guest musicians in an exuberant performance<\/h3>\n

Intrigued by the man behind this unusual exhibition? Drop by ArtScience Museum on 16 November for a chance to see him in person. In a new collaboration with independent local sound project and art rock band, ARE, Daisuke will direct an immersive live music performance, All Life Is Tour<\/em>, featuring the themes of the exhibition. Improvised music is set against filmic images of everyday suburban landscapes, creating a dreamlike experience.
\nArtScience Late, 16 November 2017, 8pm. Free admission, on a first-come-first-served basis. Visitors also enjoy special 1-for-1 entry to all exhibitions (7pm to 10pm) on ArtScience Late evenings.<\/em><\/p>\n

Watch an omnibus film shot by four directors<\/h3>\n

In line with the Specters and Tourists<\/em> exhibition, the museum will be screening 5 to 9<\/em>, a collaborative film by four regional directors – Daisuke, China\u2019s Vincent Du, Thailand\u2019s Rasiguet Sookkarn and Singapore\u2019s very own Tay Bee Pin. Taking place on the night of the historic Brazil versus Germany World Cup finals in 2014, the film explores the topic of unrequited love and goodbyes.
