One door to a secret bar in Singapore<\/a> closes, another one opens. British-style gastropub Oxwell & Co<\/a>\u00a0has quietly opened a\u00a0new hideaway for lovers of vintage style<\/a> and quirky cocktails: The Apothecary.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find this medieval pharmacy-themed bolthole on the third floor of Oxwell & Co, with a hidden door that leads to a private dining room. A secret spot for just 12 lucky souls, the interior is all lush emerald green and dark wood, with moody vintage odds and ends collected from all around the world; the shelves are lined with antique-style bottles containing\u00a0house-made concoctions that promise to \u2018treat all that ails you\u2019.<\/p>\n

What brings the magic?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the Croak and Wheeze Relief, a solution of\u00a0Glenfiddich 12-year-old whisky and\u00a0honey sage syrup, citrus, orange bitters and finished with cigar smoke. Sounds like just the kind of elixir that keeps cantankerous grandfather types unleashing inappropriate comments well into their booze-infused twilight years.<\/p>\n

Or check out the Fennicilin (pictured top): a blend of Monkey Shoulder Whisky, Islay Malt Whisky, honey fennel syrup, root ginger and citrus. If gin is your poison, take the Butterfly Corpse Effect: a mix of Hendrick\u2019s, fortified wine, blood orange and pea flower tea. This is no Mother\u2019s Ruin.<\/p>\n
