Sure, there are countless great restaurants in Asia \u2013 but not many are extraordinary<\/em>. The judges of The Diner Club Asia\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants Academy have spoken once again, following the awards ceremony that took place in Bangkok\u2019s W Hotel last night. While some fine dining restaurants from Singapore slipped outta the coveted list (see last year\u2019s results<\/a>), one made its debut in a humongous way, bringing the total number of Red Dot restos represented to nine.<\/p>\n

Odette’s Chef Julien Royer must be over the moon right now<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The triumphant newcomer? None other than Julien Royer\u2019s Odette<\/strong> at #9 \u2013 see our Hot 50 Tables review<\/a> to get in on the hype \u2013 which also won the Highest New Entry Award. Andr\u00e9 Chiang\u2019s eponymous Restaurant Andr\u00e9<\/strong> retains its status as Singapore\u2019s champ, climbing up one spot to #2, with Burnt Ends <\/strong>grilling the competition by jumping four places to #10 \u2013 Chef Dave Pynt also bagged the Chefs\u2019 Choice Award.<\/p>\n

Ryan Clift is another one who came out on top as the brains behind Tippling Club<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Despite Ignatius Chan\u2019s Iggy\u2019s<\/strong> and Willin Low\u2019s Wild Rocket<\/strong> being bumped out of this year\u2019s top 50, other local high-fliers remained \u2013 Les Amis<\/strong> (#16), Waku Ghin<\/strong> (#20), Corner House<\/strong> (#23), Jaan<\/strong> (#42), and Shinji by Kanesaka<\/strong> (#44). While all of these slid downwards, it\u2019s worth noting that Tippling Club, instead, rose four spots to #27 \u2013 check out our humorous interview we did with Chef Ryan Clift<\/a>.<\/p>\n
