Have you ever walked into a restaurant in Singapore<\/a> for brunch<\/a>, looked at the menu, and wished you could pick something from the lunch<\/a> or dinner<\/a> section instead? Yep, we\u2019ve been there \u2013 and that\u2019s why we\u2019re rather pleased with The Disgruntled Chef<\/a>\u2019s refreshed menu, which is available all day, all week, and all the time. This means, you can have brunch plates in the evenings, or bar<\/a> grub for brunch \u2013 whoop!\u00a0<\/p>\n

The refreshed and very decadent brunch menu comprises two parts \u2013 small plates and big plates \u2013 and you can pick any two at $32++ or any three at $39++. Highlights include the steak tartare, BBQ pork belly bao, baked bone marrow, duck & charcoal waffle, foie gras beef burger, and wagyu steak & eggs.<\/p>\n

The Disgruntled Chef was first conceived to be a sleek gastropub, so of course, the drinks are given just as much attention as the food. And besides, brunch is not brunch without Champagne and cocktails, right? At the restaurant, you can get the best of both in the Champagne cocktail menu, which include superlative concoctions like the Grand Mimosa, the white peach bellini and the Kir Royale, all made with Taittinger Prelude Grand Cuvee. There\u2019s also a brand-new Cured & Cultured menu to pair with your tipples, like the marinated cucumber, and the truffle bikini sandwich with Iberico ham, brie and black truffle.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re also firm believers that good food and drinks are meant to be shared (everything tastes\u00a0better that way!), and TDC seems to agree: the new menu has sangria variations served by the jug, and your group can choose to order a slew of classic and seasonal small plates, or a few big plates to go around. There are no rules! If you\u2019d like more on your table than the brunch offerings, we\u2019d say complement your order with the seared sea scallops, the baked smoked camembert, and the good ol\u2019 roasted whole spring chicken.<\/p>\n

To finish, order one or two of the puddings \u2013 they have been voted by Chope Diners\u2019 Choice Awards in 2014 & 2015 as Best Dessert. The sticky toffee pudding, which comes with bourbon-spiked vanilla ice cream, is an all-time favourite, and we bet the chocolate fondant will be a delight for\u00a0chocoholics. Love churros? The churros bowl certainly won\u2019t disappoint either; if there\u2019s a taste of the good life, this is definitely it.<\/p>\n
