5 reasons why you need to visit this newly-opened designer shoe heaven in Scotts Square ASAP
If you’ve been to Scotts Square within the month, you’d have discovered by now that the entire second storey has been taken over by…shoes, thanks to the Pedder Group.
Aptly named Pedder On Scotts (where the previous On Pedder once stood), it brings together seven sections covering both footwear and lifestyle, calling to mind an immersive shopping concept we’ve seen in cities like Hong Kong, Tokyo and even Bangkok. Join CATALOG as they walk you through the space with their top five reasons for you to pop by.
The stunning interior design
The first visit alone will probably leave you in awe, as you take in 20,000 sq ft of visually captivating interior decor, each section elaborately done up with their own distinct flair. There’s something for everyone – women, men and even kids, so you can just imagine how diverse the offerings are solely based on the retail space’s design.
Something for the guys – finally
On Pedder previously catered to just the ladies, but now, there’s a section specially curated for men too. Styled to mirror the set of hit TV series “Mad Men”, the vintage-inspired space houses an extensive range of footwear brands and styles, as well as lifestyle products for gents.
You can sip on a cuppa from The Coffee Academics
Situating cafes in retail stores have become quite the hype recently, and Pedder On Scotts have reeled in The Coffee Academics from Hong Kong so shoppers can grab specialty coffee while they’re busy browsing and indulging in retail therapy. At the moment, it’s only a pop-up, but the full fledged cafe is set to launch soon.
Sneakers galore
The sneaker zone here is massive with the Pedder Group bringing in the most stylish kicks from global retailers, capturing a very important slice of the footwear market: Sneakerheads. It’s probably one of the most eye-catching sections of the store, with futuristic decor, installations and neon lights bringing the space to life.
Constantly abuzz with happenings
Pedder On Scotts is more than your usual retail location – it’s also a hub for lifestyle and art experiences. They’re currently housing beauty brand escentials’ pop-up, and Singaporean designer Theseus Chan will be holding an exhibition soon. They’ll also be hosting regular meet the designer sessions, starting with Nicholas Kirkwood later this month.
