With its distinctive conical facade, Wheelock Place is a familiar spot to us shopaholics and foodies. Here’s our guide to the exciting new additions at this iconic mall and, of course, your favourite stores that have called Wheelock Place home for close to a decade.

What’s new?
If you’re as obsessed with Japanese food as we are, you’ll love Uya 四代目菊川 – a restaurant that specialises in unagi. Order the Hitsumabushi (unagi don with spices and dashi) – their signature set which comes with crispy grilled eel, and other must-trys like the rice bowls with toppings such as sashimi and wagyu beef.

For local delights, visit Style by Style Vibes Café, a casual eatery inspired by the yesteryears of Singapore. Tuck into all-time favourite Singaporean dishes such as prawn noodles, nasi lemak, braised pork buns, and even ice kachang. Afterwards, beer geeks can drop by The Great Beer Experiment. The bottle shop and bar carries over 150 uniquely crafted beer and cider labels from the world over, so you’ll definitely be spoiled for choice.

Wining and dining aside, shops like Yacht 21 and Supermama are worth popping by. Both feature made-in-Singapore buys, and you can browse Yacht 21’s collection of ultra-comfortable, minimalist-style outfits before going to design-centric Supermama for their quirky locally inspired items, from plates to books and accessories.   

The classics
Who could forget brands like Crumpler and Dr. Martens? The labels make super durable bags and stylish shoes we’re all familiar with, which can be found in Wheelock Place. Plus, Crumpler offers a new service available exclusively at Wheelock Place, where you can do it your way and design your own pack.

If you appreciate good design and fine craftsmanship, another store you’d want to check out is Cumulus, which stocks limited edition bags and other accessories by both up-and-coming designers and well-known brands.
