After looking up images and videos of travel destinations in a bid to (somewhat) satisfy our wanderlust, we stumbled upon what might be our new favourite genre of travel videos: virtual walking tours in incredible 2160p resolution (aka 4k videos). Take a virtual stroll around your destination of choice with these immersive vids – after all, there are no restrictions on traveling from your couch!
Ibiza, Spain
Perhaps the most swoon-worthy of Spain’s Balearic Islands, Ibiza’s many sights include the charming old town, lazy beaches and quiet farmlands. We could really use a stroll along the historic cobblestone streets right now, but failing that, admiring its whitewashed walls and terracotta roofs through a virtual tour might be the next best thing.
Bangkok, Thailand
You can’t get your shopping and massages, but you can convince yourself that you’re walking along Thailand’s busiest city. Bangkok’s streets are sadly more than just a little bare right now, and we’re glad that these videos take us back to a time of their bustling glory.

Gabled facades line the extensive canals, and natives pass by on their bikes. This is the Netherlands’ beautiful capital and there’s no doubt it’s on many a bucket list. For now, though, we’re happy to enjoy Amsterdam’s postcard-worthy scenes virtually.

London is the largest city in the UK, so journeying through its sights (even if you’re doing it by watching videos on your bed) is sure to keep you occupied for a good part of the day. While many warn about the city’s notoriously gloomy weather, this virtual tour proves it’s beautiful even in the rain – and we can’t wait to visit once we ride out this virus storm.
