Ready to sell your soul to the killuminati or enter the upside down? Brace yourselves for a night of infinite fear as Halloween Horror Nights is back to rattle your nerves.
It may be July but Singapore’s deadliest Halloween event is slowly creeping its way to the scene. Back for its eighth edition, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Singapore is scarier than ever with a spooky lineup five terrifying haunted houses, three live shows, two scare zones and zombie laser tag.
Enter the houses of iconic ghosts in Asian folklore and Netflix’s Stranger Things
Stranger Things fans, where you at? Join Eleven and the gang on a hunt to find Will Byers but keep an eye out for the demogorgon! Step into the upside down as the haunted house takes you through Hawkins lab, the flashing Christmas lights at the Byers Home and the eerie woods.
Experience four spine-chilling Asian horror narratives including the world of Killuminati, a Chinese secret society of vampires with their leader, Lu Xi Fa, the Chinese-themed Pogada of Peril trapped with demons and spirits, and the chilling Haunting of Oiwa, a Japanese ghost who returns from the dead to seek revenge after being poisoned by her unfaithful husband.
We’re staying away from spoilers but all we can say is expect lots of twists and terrifying stunts from all angles.
Closer to home, the infamous female vampiric ghost and our personal favourite urban legend, the Pontianak gets her own haunted house for the first time. Join in on the goosebump-inducing journey, right down to how she was created, real stories of Pontianak sightings and how she selects her next victim (look out!) And yes, expect banana trees and a subtle scent of jasmine flowers in this Malay village.
Mother Earth and cannibals that terrorise, effective scaring tips and zombie laser tag
Roam around the post-apocalyptic streets of New York as Mother Earth unleashes her most horrifying forces and witness an ancient tribe in the Dead Land of Egypt who are (surprise!), revengeful cannibals. Zombie Laser Tag is also back by popular demand, this time at a bigger space at The Lost World. Dinosaurs and zombies? This is the kind of cross-over we’ve been waiting for.
Need a break from the scares? Slow down your heart rate and attend a Dead Talk – a witty, seminar-style show that takes a dig at Ted Talks – by motivational death coach, Gideon Grim.
