The folks behind the Edible Garden City project are popping up again with a brand new concept, this time taking over the space of the now-defunct Broadcast HQ bar for The Growell Pop Up.
Celebrating all things homegrown and local, The Growell Pop Up champions the “Grow Your Own Food” movement and aims to shed light on the idea of urban farming in Singapore. Not enough land? Too much reliance on imported goods? Throw all those perceptions of the nation out the window because throughout this three-month showcase, you can learn about growing your own edible garden, farm-to-table dining, home designing for apartment food growers, and loads more.
On top of all the talks, workshops and exciting dinner collaborations with some of Singapore’s most well-known chefs, the shophouse will also host exhibitions for up-and-coming artists (psst… there’ll also be a section dedicated to the art of urban beekeeping in Singapore). Plus, there’ll be a retail space for all your urban farming needs and a café so you can satisfy your cravings (and support artisanal made-in-Singapore food products) – both will be open to the public this Saturday, 14 February 2015 as part of The Growell Pop Up’s soft launch phase so take this as your sneak preview.
Follow The Growell Pop Up on Facebook for a full list of happenings and other updates. Official opening date: Saturday, 21 February 2015.
