It’s okay to be a square! Get a load of these colourful, cuboid renditions of popular Asian and international dishes at this new restaurant in Timbre+
If Al Corley has taught us anything, thinking in square rooms will lead only to sad strains on sad faces – but square foods? The folks behind this new restaurant at Timbre+, Food Anatomy, aim to bring their design sensibilities into the kitchen with their colourful, artfully-crafted cuboid renditions of Asian and international dishes.
On the menu, you’ll find dishes like nasi lemak, beef rendang, teriyaki, chicken, and Thai pork basil formed into perfectly cut and colourfully-layered 7cm cubes. These pieces of edible artwork are available now at a promotional price of $2.90 per cube, or $5.80 for three.
This three-cube meal deal is intentionally designed to encourage sharing among groups – four diners with three cubes each means the chance to try 12 different dishes. If you’re eager to try it for yourself, Food Anatomy will be serving up its food cubes (or ‘Design Food’, as they call it) from 5pm ‘til late on weekends and all day on Saturdays. And if food cubes are just too ‘avant-garde’ for you, Food Anatomy also serves up salad, grain and pasta lunch bowls for lunch on weekends. Get your Instagram ready.
Food Anatomy, Timbre+, 73A Ayer Rajah Crescent. Unit 31, Open Mon-Sat 11am-11pm. Closed on Sun.
