Featuring local designers, visual artists, photographers, fashion stylists and more, the showcase titled M66: Of Different Stripes celebrates the Japanese sportswear brand in a big way
Whether you’ve been a sneakerhead for eons, or rejoicing in the flood of trainers transitioning into mainstream fashion, sneakers are the hottest footgear at the ‘mo. Much like the Adidas Stan Smith or the Nike Airforce, the classic Onitsuka Tigers still reign supreme as one of the best sneaker designs of all time.
Easily distinguished by the signature red and blue stripes, the Onitsuka Tiger boasts quality Japanese craftsmanship, luxe detailing and a sophisticated, sleek design. At the forefront of the brand is the iconic Mexico 66; after its debut in the 1968 Olympic games pre-trials in Mexico, the runners, with its full-grain leather treatment and smooth suede details, still remains the most popular model of the brand.
